i also want to know more...but by the bench, max cl6 i can go is being smoked by max cl7 score...
only by everest bench..no any other benchies..

owh sure...here it is...and here

Last time I remembered that AMD needs bandwidth in order to perform while Intel chips may prefer tight timings...

Nowadays already the other way round... sweat.gif

I thought AMD always preferred tight timings where as Intel needed the bandwidth? I stuck to that decision but I wasn't sure to go for timings for bandwidth, good to know that. smile.gif

During my AMD 939 days, I own both BH-5 and TCCD based chipset ram....the BH-5 would top out around 250-260-ish while the TCCD will make around 280 with 2.5-4-4-8 at 1.8v while the BH-5 needs at least 3.5v... brows.gif

even it the mobo does support 140w cpu.. its not on the list.. weird... overall only 8 mobo from gigabyte official on the support list..
*
What is supported 'officially' can sometimes be added or removed according to situations such as test done internally or by 3rd parties....

The gezillions of PC products out there and to test everything to ensure everything is working fine, is almost impossible to do...

Like when I boot up using 790FX-GD70 the bios didn't recognize the X2 550 BE proc...under processor tab in Bios, it describe it as Unknown AMD Processor tongue.gif

To me it doesn't really matter if it support or not...if it can be power up, it can be use...what better if can be overclocked!!! thumbup.gif

yup, what is important is d speed detected correctly, d rest is just for eye candy...  tongue.gif

woaahhh.... gd70...  drool.gif

*
Tons of bios options, eye candy LED's, easy out of the casing operation, one button CMOS reset, cool looking heatpipe n sinks, what more do you want...hehehehehe laugh.gif

Maybe I would 'lelong' the GD70 for funding of my i-seben platform...the 1366 yah not the 1156 tongue.gif

if u can afford gd70, ur not far from gettin ya hands on i-7-eleven platform.  nod.gif

imo d 4 * pci-e x16 ports is abit "lebih", if i were to cfx, i would choose i7 instead of amd for max performance...  laugh.gif

Agreed..Antonio..kenapa tak gerak ke i7? - -
But then what to CFX so much? - -
*
Lol! laugh.gif

I dun plan to CFX nor do I intend to play games at the highest settings...

The reason of me purchasing a platform (be it AMD or Intel or Transmeta or Motorola Freescale or whateva) is because of the sheer ultimate CPU processing power...If I can afford Quad Xeons/Opterons or Itanium II, IBM PowerXCell 8i I will...

I only care about SPI, WPrime and all the other CPU related benches...not so much info 3DMK06 Cinebech the lot... whistling.gif

i-seben is the yardstick now and as you see on the link regarding 6Ghz Phenom, there is no way it could beat an i-7 in SuperPI or whatever PI for that matter tongue.gif

I'm not saying that I would leave AMD camp, is just the i-7 the is 'currently' benchmark right now... tongue.gif

that's why he's movin to i7 mah... he must have lotsa gfx cards lyin around, coz x58 boards usually come w/ 3 * pci-e x16 ports rite?  drool.gif
*
No lar...i dun own so many cards...in fact the one I own is just enough to boot into windows and watch non-HD Avi or Matroska codec encoded videos...

I dun game much while I do play a certain amount of game, the 4870 is more than enuff already for me...currently I'm on Quadro or sometimes the EN9400GT blush.gif ....thats is why I rarely poke into the HW forum regarding GFX...

CPU powahhhh FTW!!! laugh.gif

same here, i doubt my 3850s which bought over a year ago had been fully utilized w/ games, now they become like geforce 2 mx while geforce 4 were widely used.  cry.gif

i find it more economy/affordable playin w/ chip + ram coz usually they wont cost as much as gfx. tweakin is fun but nowadays oc has been made easy by less effort needed to achieve high clock, but still, it's d only hobby i have here in sgp... sound kinda lifeless i guess...  blush.gif
*
Yap...thats true...I don't play Crysis, Far Cry or Crysis2 or even UT and COH...the games that I play is, Sim City, Football Manager and rFactor...which all runs fine today even with the outdated 4870 blush.gif

I've once been a GFX freak starting with Voodoo 1,2,3 then Nvidia Riva TNT2, Geforce 1,2,3,4, Geforce 4 Ti, MX440, FX5900, 6600GT (SLI), 6800GT, 6800Ultra, 7800GTX (SLI), 8800Ultra, ATi 9200, 9600XT, 9800XTPE, X900XT, X1950X, HD3870 then 4870...

TBH I really regret buying all those... laugh.gif

Why didn't I jump from Riva TNT to 4890 straight... sweat.gif

here some ss..

Is this DDR3 or DDR2 rclxub.gif

If DDR3 what is the revision and if DDR 2 what is the revision??

If DDR3 v5.1 probably you have Hynix, which is a bit sucks (cannot be because you cant go that low timing)

For sure DDR2....and for DDR2 to run 1066 at 5-5-5 on chips other than D9, you probably wont reach that high....around 900 to 950 can i guess for 5-5-5 icon_rolleyes.gif

#juz woke up after a short nap and a 10 hours visit to LYP...GC prob so pickup a new one...HD4730 tongue.gif

I use Memtest...will test as soon as my bro back from PD...his camera phone is much nicer compared to mine...

some update..
antonio
ur long hour burn in do really help?
cuz i only every 3HTT increase, ill burn 1hr...then left half day for my gaming/movie/surfing
and increase again...

i just want my board to live longer this time...so avoid long hour priming...
*
I dun burn...i just set desired voltage and speed on the rams...the alter the timings....then boot into windows see if can...

But before booting I usually memtest first...

Test 8 around 4 loops, then only i boot into windows...

In windows I memtest again using windows memtest, to see if got any errors...I use multiple instance of memtest to allow almost all of the memory being tested (although in WinXP 32-bit you won't be able to test all of your rams)...

If stable I restart, change Cpu-NB speed/multiplier to make it run around 2600>2800....increase CPU-NB volts around 1.3-1.35, this depends on your internal memory controller...I set mine at 1.35v just to avoid any inconvenience..The boot into windows...Prime Blend for 10-15hours...then reboot, set CPU pulak... Around 3700 only needs 1.4v my CPU...more and I have to go around 1.5 which is pointless just for 100-200mhz.... whistling.gif

so the long hour prime not for burn in?
stability test a? owh.... since i saw u always prime long hrs, i tot its like burn in...

CPU i can really feel the diff before and after burn...but ram, sometimes i feel like burn it not helping much...

any more updates bro?
*
Nope...just for stability...

I seldom do burn in unless I know the specific chipset or chip requires a burn-in process in order to work...Such as UTT BH-5 back then when out of the box you would get tons of errors if you would set it to 2-2-2-5...
