QUOTE(Will.i.am.Smith @ Jun 28 2012, 02:52 PM) Dont waste your $ on changing the power cord. If it has been functioning for the past one year, likely your power supplies isnt the issue. I suspected the protection circuitry is the cause. One of the sensors must have sent the wrong signal back to the CPU triggering the shut down to protect the system itself. Another possible cause is the voltage fluctuation, however, if your 5 mins shut down can be repeatedly achieved without given soundtrack, volume gain or time, then the voltage fluctuation shouldnt be the main problem. As well, did you changed your speakers, speakers cables lately before the Yammie went into shut down mode? Some speakers are very hard to drive which can cause the amplifier to oscillate and shut down. Loose speaker cables or shorting of them will trigger immediate shut down of the amplifier so i doubt it'll be the case. Do check them all but i think your amp needs a serviceĀ Likely to be the power supply board that is common on a number of Yamaha V series. This post has been edited by XPS: Aug 18 2012, 09:50 AM

Getting Started

I just bought a Amp RXV-373 together with a speaker system. I get really confused after try to connect my devices. I only manage to connect my bluray DVD player to Plasma TV & Amp and sounds is out from Amplifier speaker system. ( using 2 HDMI cable) 1. HDMI ARC out to Plasma TV. 2. HDMI 1 to BD-DVD Player. Amp to HDMI1 for hearing the sounds.
1. Now how do i connect the device such as PS3, HD Media Player & DVD to maximize the Amp Speaker system ? 2. TV as optional when i want to use Amp speaker for more sounds omph ?
*Plasma TV - Panasonic with 3 HDMI. HDMI2 is ARC function. ** Yamaha Amp RXV-373 with 4 HDMI input.
Tried plug here n there for 2 hours but dont get the results.
Appreciate sifu here can give some advise.

Connect your bluray player hdmi out to your receiver hdmi in and connect the hdmi out from the receiver to your tv just for the video out. Connect the rest of the components you have using the hdmi to your receiver or component video, s video, composite video or analog audio into your receiver accordingly. You'll have to setup in your receiver of each input to capture the respective sources accordingly. The hdmi out from your receiver should be connected to your hdmi 2 of the tv to enable the ARC feature if your receiver allows it. Remember to set your receiver to decode all the sound of the hdmi (some referred as "amp mode" in the manual) so the sound will be output through your speaker system. Hope this helps.

My Yamaha receiver is capable of streaming Pandora but I am unable to listen because I am using public ip address from TM. My home PC is connected on the same LAN too. Any idea how do I make use of my home PC as proxy with US ip address for the Yamaha while my PC still goes through the local TM internet?

Hi, I hv just installed Unifi (with HyppyTV) and media player and I am wondering what is the best way to integrate these two systems into my existing Yamaha home theatre system as my existing Yamaha DVX-S100 has only one HDMI port. I am thinking of redesigning the home system into the following fashion (as shown below), with the help of one to-be-purchased HDMI switch: 1. All connections (video and audio) from Unifi, Astro and media players are via HDMI to the Yamaha 2. The Yamaha would then channel the video to my HDTV via the Component Video jacks. Pls advice if this would work. Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by bizklguy: Jul 16 2012, 06:15 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

Anybody knows the price of V673 and where selling? Saw one at Desa LY but the salesman didn't know the price. I presumed they just got the stock, but that was about 3 weeks ago.

QUOTE(cmw_kwl_6923 @ Jul 29 2012, 10:34 AM) Went to Amcorp Mall yesterday but Accoustique was closed. Jalan-jalan a bit enjoyed the flea-market there. Incidentally saw A&L there. Spoke to Desmond and indeed the price quoted was very attractive. Will check out the Bangsar branch since nearer to my place. Don't know if my ears can appreciate any thing better than a V673! Getting it for the future proof thingy (4k scaling). I think it's value for money.

Hi Yamaha fans, can guide me where to get a good deal for RX v473 + 5.1 speakers around PJ or Kl. my budget is only $2500.00.
Planning to get Yamaha 5.1 NS-P40 speakers along with the receiver do I have any other choice without exceeding the budget?
