QUOTE(G|O @ Dec 29 2010, 12:04 PM) hi guys, any nice shop to intro in puchong area to go for yamaha 467 avr with good bargain? and which budget speaker set you would recommend to suit 467, so far i check around it seems like nCp380 is the best match to this AVR? thank you. I'm using the 467 with the NS-P380 package and I can say it's pretty good and sufficient for my AV room, which is about almost 100sq ft. If for a living room, I'm not sure. Trust your ears. Go to a place where they have a room with the speakers all set up and you can be the judge of it yourself.

How do you rate avr467 pairing with wharfedale 9.1 frontspeaker? Will be saving for a decent subwoofer and surround in the future.

It's a microphone that is placed at the ear level in your sweet spot(listening position), and automatic sound calibration will be carried out for around 3 mins, suitable for ppl who dun want to use the manual setup

Yamaha's Cinema DSP is Digital SoundField Processing, you can play around with the programs to give you diff effect like, Hall, Spectacle, etc, if the Cinema DSP don't appear, meaning you are running at Straight mode, means no extra effect added, sound signal truely from the Blu-Ray player

I do not like the DSP effect. Tried that out and preferred Straight mode. The DSP effect is trying to replicate the sound of the selected DSP. IMHO, it ruins the actual effect. AFAIK, many users also prefer to use 'Straight' mode. The YPAO is one of the earliest room optimization s/w available. It was indeed impressive at that time. However, the cream of the crop should be Audyssey latest MultEQ XT32 s/w that could do 512x resolution for each channel as well as Sub EQ up to 2 subwoofers for 8 positions. It is quite a leap forward.

Just DTS-HD MSTR If you press the MOVIE or MUSIC button then you'll get to choose the modes. But don't be surprised if DTS appears on the display. Press STRAIGHT again and you're back to status quo.
