Hey guys, while watching Blu Ray movie, how would i know if my Yamaha 467 is playing back DTS Master or DDTrueHD, because there is no indicators on the front panel.

I know other brand of av amp would show DTS Master or DDTrueHD when the system playbacks these audio.

If I'm not mistaken...

It doesn't / won't show...  If you select 'Movie' on your remote it would play it as it is (If your source is DTS-HD, etc). If you select 'Surround' on your remote, you will see the PLIIx logo on the display and this will decode things for you.

There's also the decoder mode which is usually set to 'auto' (this matches the format of the audio input for you automatically). The other selection would be 'DTS' (this selects DTS signals only, other signals are not reproduced).

best you grab the manual and read up.. I've only read up a bit

Thank you Azxel.

Nope, my 467 panel won't display any DTS HD audio whenever i playback DTS HD movie on my Phillips BDP. It does not show any DTS on my old DVD movie too.

So i have no idea what movie audio it is playing.

forgot to test out BD last night.. hehe
For some DVDs, you need to go to setup to select what kinda audio you want also right?

For my old RX 420, once DTS audio is selected from the DVD menu, the receiver will show DTS. But with the new RX 467, the panel only shows HDMI and DSP, but not DTS HD or TruDolby。

Perhaps the new receiver automatically accepts and decodes the best audio to output..........

Ok, Bros. I popped in my Manual CD and started browsing immediately once i reached home just now.

So it says movies playback from DVD/Blu Ray will be decoded automatically. And I guess PCM is the right audio decoder for movies. Please correct me if i am wrong.

I can't find much info on Bitstream, though.

Thanks dario !

Now, i have good excuse to go back home early today rclxms.gif !

This thing has been bugging me for quite some time dy. When i compare the movie audio between my DVD DTS and Blu Ray DTS HD, i am rather disappointed because i don't get much difference from both. I guess all these while, i had NOT been listening to real DTS HD sound !

I am watching mostly Blu Ray now, and i get only PCM. Meaning i am not the right audio decoding format for DTS HD ?

I had a RX V420 before, but had since sold it to upgrade to RX V467.
I hope you might consider getting V467.

For my V467, HN is able to match the price offered by Desa HT. But i bought from Desa at the end, because it is nearer to my house.
