QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 20 2010, 03:35 PM) To be honest...... i have yet to see any DTS HD appearing at the panel. It has been only DTS whenever i select DTS HD. You could check decoder mode mentioned by dariofoo, but the best way to test is get the ori disc broBut i have no problem with Dolby TrueHD, weird isn't it ? |

OK, good news.
I checked the Option on receiver Decode Mode, yes i had set as Auto. Then I proceed to select Scene, once i select BD/DVD, the Receiver immediately shows DTS HD ! Now, all my Receiver can decode DTS HD Master Audio for all my BD collection ! This post has been edited by galantorian7116: Dec 20 2010, 09:59 PM |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 20 2010, 09:57 PM) OK, good news. I say! That was the magic button then! I checked the Option on receiver Decode Mode, yes i had set as Auto. With regard to your question on BDs, yes Amazon is the best but if you're getting only few titles at a time you might wanna go to Garage Sales - Games and check out the list of sellers who sell BDs. Don't think I should mention specific names but check out their thread and if the feedback is good and price is alright, then go for it. |

For the RX-V467, if I were to connect my media player to it via HDMI and then the amp will output to the TV, that will be possible right?
So with 1 HDMI cable, both video and audio will be going through the amp which means I don't need a separate digital optical cable for the audio anymore is it? |

So your amp is not connected to any speakers ?So with 1 HDMI cable, both video and audio will be going through the amp which means I don't need a separate digital optical cable for the audio anymore is it? |

I have a Centre Speaker to let go after i upgraded some of my speakers. It pairs well with my ex Yamaha amp. PM me if you interested.
Guess it will beat the standard speakers from a HTiB set. Added on December 22, 2010, 5:52 pm QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Dec 22 2010, 11:59 AM) Planning to get the RX-V467 for a start. Speakers wise, it can be connected to speakers from a HTiB system right? Will need more budget for high-end speakers. I have a Centre Speaker to let go after i upgraded some of my speakers. After getting the Yamaha amp, I think will need to wait a while for more budget. So existing speakers from a HTiB set should still be doable right?

I wouldn't advise that...those small satellite speakers...later explode got too much juice from the Yammy AVR. Save ur money until u can buy a complete set. After all, ur HTIB can work now. Spend so much just to 'get rid of optical' cable, IMO, is not very wise... |

QUOTE(dariofoo @ Dec 23 2010, 04:06 PM) haha...i dunno...each speaker have their own 'Ohm' measurements...i am not sure if pairing a powerful AVR to those cheap small speakers are wise. I believe in the AVR manual got mentioned what is the 'Ohm' recommend for the specific speakers. Here: http://www.prestonelectronics.com/audio/Impedance.htm This post has been edited by Matrix: Dec 23 2010, 04:16 PM |
