Would you guys add another RM600 to get a V1900 instead of 765 ?? does it justify additional 600 ?

QUOTE(lightning69 @ May 8 2010, 04:33 PM) The Yammy V1900 @ RM3k is indeed a great bargain. I am currently using Denon 3805...not sure the V1900 would be a worthy replacement of the denon3805. Anyone can help here. do you guys think it's still a great buy with all those new *65 in store ? Will I be missing any new features ? |

QUOTE(lomz @ Aug 10 2010, 04:52 AM) my dad just gv me his 9 yrs old RX-V2095 to me...but without speakers n subswoofer..... I went the opposite way, i gave 1900 to my dad for his birthday and get myself 2065 instead. All because the extra hdmi i needed and how he had been looking for 1900. He mostly listen to cd's i guess 1900 benefited him more. I thought i should wait for the new aventage series but i don't think my old man would need all the 3D and other gizmo in it.any recommendation on the speakers n subs???? |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 10 2010, 04:53 AM) Hey guys, while watching Blu Ray movie, how would i know if my Yamaha 467 is playing back DTS Master or DDTrueHD, because there is no indicators on the front panel. I'm not sure on 467 but on 2065, there's a button on the front panel which said INFO, push it until it show 'Audio Decoder' .. and when you play your source it will show if its on DTS or TrueHD or PCM..I know other brand of av amp would show DTS Master or DDTrueHD when the system playbacks these audio. |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 15 2010, 11:35 PM) Ok, Bros. I popped in my Manual CD and started browsing immediately once i reached home just now. In my opinion, It doesn't matter how you set your amp, it will only show PCM if you can't set your BD player audio to bitstream.Still PCM is also multichannel, it's just that the player doing the DTS HD/TrueHD decoding for you. Now, regarding the quality it's depend on how good the player decoder is, but my bet is your amp will be much better doing the decoding hence why most people like to use bitstream. So it says movies playback from DVD/Blu Ray will be decoded automatically. And I guess PCM is the right audio decoder for movies. Please correct me if i am wrong. I can't find much info on Bitstream, though. |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 16 2010, 04:36 PM) LoonFay, i did select the audio to DTS HD from the movie audio setting whenever it is available in Blu Ray movie. I think you need to set it up from the player setting, i mean your Philips BDP not from the movies. I don't use Philips but check the manual on where to setup the HDMI Audio and set it up to bitstream instead of PCM.Since you do not mentioned specifically which model your Philips BDP is, i'll assume its bdp2700 and do the dirty work of reading, copy and pasting the manual info here. 1. Press the [HOME] icon 2. Select [Setup] and press OK 3. Select [Audio] and press > 4. Scroll down to [HDMI Audio] and press OK 5. Select [Bitstream] and press OK 6. Press the [HOME] icon to exit menu. This post has been edited by ameenskywalker: Dec 16 2010, 05:34 PM |

QUOTE(dariofoo @ Dec 17 2010, 12:41 PM) I got mine from HN Midvalley. You can try out at their soundroom as well. It's worth it as it can decode HD audio as well so if you're watching blu-rays you would be able to get HD audio. As for me, i did most of the auditioning in HN as well, but after comparing prices end up buying it at desa ht. |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Dec 20 2010, 03:35 PM) To be honest...... i have yet to see any DTS HD appearing at the panel. It has been only DTS whenever i select DTS HD. You could check decoder mode mentioned by dariofoo, but the best way to test is get the ori disc broBut i have no problem with Dolby TrueHD, weird isn't it ? |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Dec 21 2010, 11:03 PM) For the RX-V467, if I were to connect my media player to it via HDMI and then the amp will output to the TV, that will be possible right? So your amp is not connected to any speakers ?So with 1 HDMI cable, both video and audio will be going through the amp which means I don't need a separate digital optical cable for the audio anymore is it? |
