Yeah, coz your source (BD player) will determine what type of signal to transfer to your amp for decoding.

LoonFay, i did select the audio to DTS HD from the movie audio setting whenever it is available in Blu Ray movie.

I think you need to set it up from the player setting, i mean your Philips BDP not from the movies. I don't use Philips but check the manual on where to setup the HDMI Audio and set it up to bitstream instead of PCM.

Since you do not mentioned specifically which model your Philips BDP is, i'll assume its bdp2700 and do the dirty work of reading,copy and pasting the manual info here.

1. Press the [HOME] icon
2. Select [Setup] and press OK
3. Select [Audio] and press >
4. Scroll down to [HDMI Audio] and press OK
5. Select [Bitstream] and press OK
6. Press the [HOME] icon to exit menu.

Reached home half an hour ago. Resetting the Amp now.

Dario and Skywalker, you are both right. I need to select Option and i need to set up my BDP. I got bitstream now, and i got real DTS HD and i got DD TrueHD now !!!

Testing the new setting with Transformers............., my gosh my gosh ! Ini barulah Transformers ! It is simply so much detailed and so rich !

Thanks guys again ! Two thumbs up for Dario and Ammenskywalker !

Guys,

can recommend me an entry level(aka CHEAP) Yamaha AVR? My old RX-V520 is a bit sot sot oready. I am looking foward to get one with HDMI in/out so i can get rid of all the optical cables....XBOX, WDTV Live etc goes to the AVR and AVR goes to the LCD TV.

Pls advice...and remember...CHEAP...haha..

I had a RX V420 before, but had since sold it to upgrade to RX V467.
I hope you might consider getting V467.

I got mine from HN Midvalley. You can try out at their soundroom as well. It's worth it as it can decode HD audio as well so if you're watching blu-rays you would be able to get HD audio. nod.gif
