hi all,
need some opinion on yamaha avr here. initially i went to audition new yamaha rxv767 at HN. already impressed with the sound. But after further reading on few forums, thinking of switching to rxv2067, (under assumption it will sound better). But this one not available for demo. the price is RM5k vs RM3k for 767. So here just wanna ask is it worth the Rm to get 2067 over 767? Anybody knows sound quality difference between 765 and 2065? ie is it big difference just slightly difference? TQ in advance for the input. |

QUOTE(LoonFay @ Dec 2 2010, 11:00 AM) RX-V1065 is considered Mid-High Range Receiver, the Soavo 900 Sub is High End, and the NS8390 with NSP60 is a mid high basic home theater speakers, which is a 3-way speakers. Thanks a lot for the informationthe receiver and subwoofer is future proof, the next thing is if you may want to upgrade speakers in the future, you don need to worry bout the sub and receiver. Any good recomendation for the upgrade speakers in the future? Offcourse Soavo the best but i dont have so high budget |

Hey guys, while watching Blu Ray movie, how would i know if my Yamaha 467 is playing back DTS Master or DDTrueHD, because there is no indicators on the front panel.
I know other brand of av amp would show DTS Master or DDTrueHD when the system playbacks these audio. |

If I'm not mistaken...
It doesn't / won't show... If you select 'Movie' on your remote it would play it as it is (If your source is DTS-HD, etc). If you select 'Surround' on your remote, you will see the PLIIx logo on the display and this will decode things for you. There's also the decoder mode which is usually set to 'auto' (this matches the format of the audio input for you automatically). The other selection would be 'DTS' (this selects DTS signals only, other signals are not reproduced). best you grab the manual and read up.. I've only read up a bit |

It just displayed DTS, when I was certain there was DTS-HD. Anyways, when I clicked the STRAIGHT button - it immediately displayed DTS-HD Master Audio. There you go. Try it out. Come back here and tell us if it works. PS: Azxel, if I do get it wrong, humble apologies. |

I'm also learning how to use the 467 myself Lemme go back and see if it will display DTS-HD when I press the 'Straight' button or not. From what I noticed, there wasn't any DTS icon at all on the display Here's what I read in the manual previously (page 29) QUOTE When you playback DTS-HD sources with Cinema DSP, the DTS decoder is automatically selected Not really sure what it actually means Ah.. I think you're (dariofoo) right. Found this on page 30... QUOTE Enjoying Hi-Fi Sound Quality (Direct Mode) Use Direct mode to enjoy the pure high fidelity sound of the selected source. How was it Azxel?
Manual sounds confusing (as they often do!) I haven't read it yet myself. Will do when I have time. |

Straight means without any Yamaha Cinema DSP. For any other Movie modes, DSP will kicked in. IMO, Yamaha DSP is designed to be used with the presence speakers setup. DSP modes also allow you to have the "dialogue lift" adjustment.

Nope, my 467 panel won't display any DTS HD audio whenever i playback DTS HD movie on my Phillips BDP. It does not show any DTS on my old DVD movie too.
So i have no idea what movie audio it is playing. This post has been edited by galantorian7116: Dec 13 2010, 02:04 AM |
