Just that you found those shops that sell FMG set that is selling more expensive. As reported in this thread & proven in lelong.com.my, there are FMG sets selling at RM 2100 or maybe lower.

if that is the case, why is there significant difference between units from FMG and Brightstar.

standard warranty by these two company are the same.
*
i guess since FMG was used to be the de facto original sets distributer for Samsung and most Samsung buyers are not aware of the additional distributors ie: Brightstar........ so taking this short opportunity to milk more from consumers......

mine is a BrightStar set, too.

OoOokkkk..... Didn't know there's a Brightstar around. unsure.gif

I think what ehsandy meant is the price difference.
Also, I have been checking Brightstar and FMG.
FMG is a multinational company headquartered at HK with other branches at USA, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Philippines.
Whereas Brightstar is a local Malaysian company.
My mistake. Brightstar is also a multinational company.  http://www.prnasia.com/pr/09/07/09466311-1.html  15 July 2009
Err...price difference...  Introductory price, maybe?  blink.gif

EDIT: Brightstar is HUGE.  Bigger than FMG. HQ at USA with more than 40 branches around the world.

Anyway, I came across this.  The Omnia II is confirmed with the codename I8000.
Look what I found at Brightstar's website...
I8003
Samsung Jet widely known as S8000 shows as I8003 on their site.
A variant or a typo?
*
I got a reply from brighstarcorp, Mr. Brandon.

Just want to clarify that the OMNIA II for Malaysia is tagged as I8000. The product code maybe vary from Europe market whereby it tagged as I8003, but it is the same product. Thank you.

Regards

Brandon

Do you notice the description written there is I8000 while the picture is I8003? blush.gif

I would say this phone is awesome! and yes...the today screen is laggy when sliding pages, Im not sure if new ROM has fix this but I must say SPB Mobile Shell is a wonderful program to replace the today screen, and S2U2 to replace the lock screen. Both of the software is brilliant!

btw...TS please add me to the owner list, thanks!

Added on September 23, 2009, 1:55 pmbtw...I always set any random location when the Garmin trying to search for satellite, I feels that it is much quicker locking down the satellites comparing to waiting for the signals to be green color...personal experience though

RM69.

Lowyat Plaza UG level next to the escalator.

The result is not perfect now, but the person said after few days the plastic will settle down nicely.

Anyway, I'm ok with plastic not nice than my whole omnia's back full of fingerprints + oil.

The matte surface is sleek! Mine's glossy and all I see are my fingerprints. Love to have it on mine but is there any way to buy it online or Poslaju?
I am in Sarawak and till now I have not even come across it. Also looking for a flip case for my phone. Hate the standard one. Every time I accidentally pressed the "Reject and send SMS"... sad.gif

You mentioned that you skinned your phone and added a Capdase screen protector. Is the skin also matte like the Capdase?

One thing for sure is that no matter Brightstar or FMG set you still can bring in to any Samsung Service centre for firmware upgrade & servicing.

I got my set here from Brightstar too. The person who sells to me guaranteed that I can walk-in to any samsung service centre for claiming and service if i prefer to or can bring it back to them. either way.

I have a question regarding the digital frame software built in, I can play the background music, there is an option to display picture, after I choose the desired picture folder under option but it didn't play any picture at all.
How to do it?
