haih...my sister take spm this year, 13 paper..and she take CAT as well..
she's completed 5 paper...this June is her final 4paper..
you can study by yourself..like my sis...she dun attend any classes...just solely rely on BPP textbook and pyq.
CAT isn't hard...but you are doing stpm..i sugegst you to go ACCA..
cos you've wasted some time(to be sincere)..
CAT is a one year course..but if you start from ACCA,u'll complete part one in half a year. imagine, CAT= 9papers...ACCA part one=3papers.
you do the maths.

Colly, I wish to ask FTMS core papers teaching style for revision class ??
I already registered. For example, do they cover all syllabus? Do they talk very fast?? What approaches they used to teach us,more Q & A or more theory talking by lecturer.

I fail my 3.2, so take 3.2 plus core papers, maximum 4 papers!! Thanks blush.gif

in my opinion,if study ACCA just rely on past year and BPP textbook,i think the chances of failure at 1st attempt is high...no offend, just my personal comment..
maybe CAT can use this way but i don think applicable to ACCA... tongue.gif

oic...

ok,i briefly told u about their approach in summary for all three lecturers..
you must first understand that not many lecturers can finish the syllabus and covers all the syllabus in just 4-5 months time,so what they can do is to try their very best to cover as much as they can and also covers at least the core areas..

they did not talk very fast, but you need to be aware that there are 2 mat salleh lecturers there,so you might have some slang that u might not biasa at 1st but sooner or later you would be fine...don't worry they are very experienced so they know what are the students concern and also problems in getting what the lecturers wish to deliver...

all the lecturers are using the Q and A approach as it is better for the students to learn and apply immediately what they had learnt...so the class will not be fully on talking about theory only..one thing u also need to take note that esp if you have a chinese lecturers, not much theory in talking will be delivered to students,at least not as much as a mat salleh lecturer, but he will give you the notes that u need to read on that...

all the lecturers have a well developed approach and way to conduct the class as this is not their 1st time giving lecture ..so don't worry about that...just try to suit yourself to their approach and change accordingly, sooner or later u will be fine...
some people might comment that keith might not able to finish the syllabus and also just teach on his spotted areas but sometime it is not really an easy thing to do lo,but i think he at least did his job and not lazy about that,he gave you the notes and i think for me,with his help,i can understand his approach amd lecture and also i can pass because of him..this is what i think...

one more thing i want to stress is that sometime passing exam is depend on yourself,i had met with lecturer which i think not really good but it is not an excuse of failure,i can pass also even though i might not have much guidance... rclxm9.gif
i guess you might know the fact but i just want to stress it here again...

all the best for your coming exam... rclxm9.gif

then another fren,he tell me he won't take ACCA cos his mum say ACCA not good..is it true??y they think ACCA not good???

actually i won't give up CAT n ACCA but i just curious,so many ppl taking ACCA but to pass is a difficult thg,..dat's mean ACCA also is a stardard exams n the cert also useful(correct me if i'm wrong),but still got ppl say ACCA not good... icon_question.gif

haha...ur friend really funny...for me if i heard this i just treat that as a joke..
you know what is sour grape, they may not able to do that and said it is not good..
i just wish that ur fren who study in Tarc won't take ACCA after her degree, coz some of the degree holders are required to take up a professional qualifiation when they work for those big accounting firm...

why her mum say no good?i am not sure coz i am not his mum...only his mum know why ACCA not good... tongue.gif tongue.gif rclxub.gif

i personally think ACCA is a good qualification and i heard a lot positive feedback when ppl heard that i am an ACCA student last time and now as an affiliate..
it is no doubt maybe some people fail their exam...
but things are not simple right,u wan to pass easy and u get a prestigious qualification,if ppl can pass ACCA so easily, then ACCA also no quality is it... rclxms.gif

personal opinion la... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Yes, I have to agree ACCA can self study, but only applicable to certain group!!
This group is either self motivative or Smart or both..

Actually, NO one will fail ACCA eventually if u have the determination, resit again & resit again, u will pass. Thats what one of the lecturer tell us.
But, I work towards pass at the first attempt!!

I got one friend, hardly attend class, but obtain good GPA.

1 month before ACCA, she just started study (self study by photocopy my or sometimes her friend notes).
Result: She get 66 & 68 for 2 optional papers, not bad for last minute study rclxms.gif
She use my notes to study, but I fail one of the papers & pass the other. cry.gif
