How's the reviews from D3000 users? Just read this today: http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/d3000/high-iso-comparison.htm

Seems like D3000 doesn't work too well at high ISO.

I'm guessing at that price Di866 should be better in build quality than the Di622.
QUOTE(raptorclans @ Sep 30 2009, 01:11 PM)
I'm aiming for the Di866 actually... should have similar build quality as the Di622 rite?

Added on September 30, 2009, 10:49 pmFrom the comparison in Ken Rockwell's site, it would seem to me like the D40 and D3000 are using 2 different noise reduction algorithms. The comparison seems to be in one particular lighting condition so I don't think it is enough to draw a conclusion on the noise reduction performance of the 2 cameras.

Bought D5000 days before raya for the swivel LCD and interval shooting mode. Here's my first attempt at interval shooting mode. Frames taken at 30-seconds interval - should've use 10-seconds instead.

How do we capture the frames so that the colors are consistent?

Use manual for interval shooting mode, esp white balance must be manual.
remember to try few shot before use manual.have fun trying smile.gif

If the D40/ D3000 ISO review is true, then D3000 1600 ISO is hard to use. May I know how often people here shoot using 1600 ISO? Thanks. smile.gif

i did googled and generally i know what iso is for... but i want to know, from any of your experience, how often and useful is the hi iso (1600 above) in taking pictures. generally hi iso will introduce noise... would it be better if we introduce more light (external flash, etc) instead of increasing ISO?

ok..that mean u not really understand what iso is...well..if we have external flash, y we want to increase the iso so high?? yes, high iso will have more noise, but that is for when u in low light condition and dont have external flash...well, my opinion, actually the iso is depend on user, if u feel the high iso is having too much noise that u cant accept, well, go get external flash..=)

Great explaination but for the last one got abit problem.

My opinion with external flash is sometimes the flash can only highlight nearest subject, how about the background?thats why we use High iso to highlight some details on the back.

For example,in the hall with high ceiling,we know that our flash cant bounce that high and have to use exposure lock button(to use the flash as fill flash), the shutter speed will be too slow and the subject will become like blur blur. This is when the High Iso can do its job.

My 2 cent, still young and learning.Hope some taiko can teach me more stuff. notworthy.gif

That's right. Yesterday I just went Jalan Alor after going lowyat to eat, and when I captured my friends in ISO 200 with external flash only my friend and then table were illuminated, the background is very dark... Increased to ISO 400 then ok le ^.^ Still learning to shoot in dark condition~
