Hi guys, i'm planing to buy either d60 or d3000 in a week or two. Is there any guide that can help me from being cheated, e.g, secondhand camera or stolen camera. And how can i check shutter count of the camera i'm buying (d60 or d3000) on the spot.

im in same situation with u now.

doing some research and found out the comparison here

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_po..._d3000&show=all

but any current user here wanna share his own experiece?

that will be more useful rather than reading the specs only.

n one more thing, can a beginner survive without the AF motor on certain lens? rclxub.gif

More zoom, more bokeh. U may try 17-50mm F2.8 and try to use at 17mm and 50mm,
assume that aperture is always F2.8, at 50mm, the picture looks more bokeh.
thats why some people use 70-200mm F2.8 for studio picture,so that the background more bokeh. smile.gif

Both of these are "Normal" lenses which are close to our eye viewing angle. 35 is for DX Crop frame and 50 is for full frame (FX). A 50mm will have approx 75mm viewing angle on DX body whereas 35mm DX prime lens will have approx 50mm viewing angle on FX body.

many ppl suggest to use manual focus, but when u really use it in some event n outing, u will kno itz not easy... most of the pic u took will be blur, n even u got a sharp pic, u would probably miss out a lot of chances of nice shot...
*
Agree too.
Moments that you took your photo is really important, as without AF-S, it's really a fuss and missed out alot of nice shot.
But, if with a non-af ability body, manual focus is the way, until you upgrade to next body which will have built in af motor =)

I tink the correct term is focal length. not zoom.
