for event shooting,i prefer using SB-900 with battery pack since its much faster than SB-600.
does Di866 can become slave flash for SB-900?

QUOTE(tun @ Sep 16 2009, 03:42 PM) lol . 50mm is ofr potrait right ? I have, but i dont post 'creative' photos here, just for my sister(in NZ) and friends who want to see their picturesi am more event and landscape scare UWA cnt take event photo . xp got any sample picture ? or blog ? www.flickr.com/faiz92 sorry no creative photo there UWA can take event photo, well not all the time. sometimes using UWA lens.u can actually get subject.( for me la) got one of my friend (he is 17years old and using Canon 5d mark II with 70-200mm f2.8 then he change to 17-40 f4, with his full frame camera, his 17mm is really wide and his photo become very nice after that so the conclusion is, u need a lot of lens for an event or u also can use the 18-200mm for landscape and event ,but for indoor, f5.6 is not enough for me sometimes bro,u have to buy and take few picture first, then u know the 'POWER' |

QUOTE(Mavik @ Sep 17 2009, 05:56 PM) It depends on the camera you are capturing with. If you use the D3 and capture it, sure can wan! Otherwise just make sure park the camera on a tripod and focus in the area. Max burst speed! im using d40x that time and d40x at higher iso very noisyso i use iso 800, lock focus at nearest object ,shutter 1/200 with flash bounce on the ceiling if use d3? no need flash, use iso 2500 |

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Oct 1 2009, 10:03 AM) ok..that mean u not really understand what iso is...well..if we have external flash, y we want to increase the iso so high?? yes, high iso will have more noise, but that is for when u in low light condition and dont have external flash...well, my opinion, actually the iso is depend on user, if u feel the high iso is having too much noise that u cant accept, well, go get external flash..=) Great explaination but for the last one got abit problem. My opinion with external flash is sometimes the flash can only highlight nearest subject, how about the background?thats why we use High iso to highlight some details on the back. For example,in the hall with high ceiling,we know that our flash cant bounce that high and have to use exposure lock button(to use the flash as fill flash), the shutter speed will be too slow and the subject will become like blur blur. This is when the High Iso can do its job. My 2 cent, still young and learning.Hope some taiko can teach me more stuff. |

More zoom, more bokeh. U may try 17-50mm F2.8 and try to use at 17mm and 50mm,
assume that aperture is always F2.8, at 50mm, the picture looks more bokeh. thats why some people use 70-200mm F2.8 for studio picture,so that the background more bokeh. |

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Oct 2 2009, 09:20 PM) Yeah,'bokeh' is blur background. I also dont know how to explain. F is aperture, the bigger it is (small number) the more blur the background is.U guys can try take few picture with your kit lens.( 18-55mm F3.5-5.6) Try to use 18mm at F5.6 and 55mm at F5.6, u will see that at 55mm F5.6 capable to do more blur background( assuming you are taking close up picture) If dont understand,i will post some pictures later . |

Have to set the Ev to +0.7 +1.0 then higher ISO, well, this is one of the reason why i upgrade to D90 QUOTE(nyem @ Oct 3 2009, 03:14 AM) Nice video,i think u should use wider angle rather than focus on the cloud only.Or maybe, have some subject in the picture, like a car or something .(discovery channel use buildings QUOTE(project-o @ Oct 3 2009, 10:40 AM) In general, the softest point of the lens is when it is "wide open" as in open to the max aperture. So for an f1.8 lens f1.8 is the softest point and it starts getting sharper from f2.8 onwards. For the 35 f1.8 the best performance is between f3.5 to f5.6. In general those lenses like standard zooms that have an aperture of f5.6 at the long end are sharpest between f8 to f10. Thanks for good explaination! I always use my F2.8 at F4 because it is sharper and nicerrr.(trial and error) Anybody do CLS here? |
