hey thanks and i have another question... to go to MMMC in manipal u need ur sijil sokongan luar negara rite.... anyone knows how long does it take them to process it??? i sent it in mid january and have not gotten a reply since then. Does it normally take that long???

and one more thing... to all those already in MMMC can anyone give me a rough idea of how the application works...

as far as i know... i had my offer letter and applied for my Sijil Sokongan Luar Negara. I understand that once i receive the sijil im supposed to pass it to the college... the clerk working there told me that i'll recieve another letter about my visa and accomodation... will i get it after i hand up my sijil or wat???

^usually one month..and you might want to call them a few times to disturb them to speed up your process...

no after you get that sijil..you need go indian embassy to apply the visa YOURSELF..accomadation can settle with the uni i guess..

Hi I am from MMMC batch 27.
It usually takes a month. You call them to ask whether is it ready or not. I forgot the number but you can try google to find it.
For us we hand up the sijil in the airport at the day we depart to india. I not sure how is it for your batch.

Yes usually for the letter and visa and accommodation you need to wait them to poslaju it to you. They will give you a booklet and make sure you read everything in the booklet. All the instruction and Q&A are there. Still if there is any inquiries feel free to pm me.

i am not sure if people noted this in the media lately........

of the 11k students 'rescued' back from egypt, 5k are medical students!!

for the 5 year courses there, that translate to 1000 new doctors every year on average.........and practically ALL will return to msia.........

so we now have 1000 new doctors a year from russia, and 1000 from egypt......

Wow, soon ordinary Malaysian will have a chance to have their own person doctor like those Rich & Famous Hollywood film stars. 2020, here we come

=D =D =D =D =D and it will never be an issue for malaysia because of obvious reason =) haha good quality doctors +1000/ year yay

by 2020 we can have doctors who treat only other doctors.... hehe

we can laugh now...

but it certainly won't be funny 10 years later.....

Hope all these additional doctors will help to ease the acute shortage at the General Hospitals and the 1Malaysia clinics. Though a question mark over their qualifications but at least better than the treatment meted out by the "doctors' assistants"at the district hospitals.

there isn't really a shortage anymore..........

there is however pockets of shortages, mostly in rural areas........that is maldistribution, not shortage........a problem that will persist no matter how many doctors there are (exist in oz, us etc).......

anyway, like what i've mentioned in the pharmacy thread, this medical graduates can instead do admin work after their housemenship in the MOH instead of the hospitals.

I would very much prefer them to go this path if their skills are really questionable. at least they are still doing a good deed for the society.

How is UCSI medicine course?

How are the lecturers?

Can u comment on the quality of teaching of Medicine in UCSI?

R the facilities complete enough?

I flipped through a few pages of pharmacy reference book in my college's library n can c that most r drugs' names. Will it be boring to some people for keep studying drugs' names n memorizing them?
