Yesterday i met the TM technician (came my home to fix problem before) outside of my condo area, i told him that i have terminated my Streamyx and suprisingly he informed me that "baguslah you cancel sekarang, Streamyx dah apply fair usage policy".......

Thats all i heard....

Wait, when they mean throttle, they mean p2p traffic right? How about HTTP download?

If they are throttling p2p, I had no choice but to resurface my old Xunlei. I'll massacre those TM guys.

If they throttle international bandwidth, I'll use my server to fetch international files and download through my server.

If they throttle HTTP, I'll make sure that I complain 24/7 where they won't be happy about it. Before this, I call 1300 number will cost me. Now call 100 and they are not going to be happy.

10 GB !!! ARE YOU FRAGGING CRAZY!!!!

What is the point of highspeed broadband when you set a stupid bandwidth cap so damn low ????

What public opinion??? Never tell your customers you are doing this then dare say asking for our feedback? Wait until our techies find out and complain before admit doh.gif sigh
Anyway i also posted my response in the other thread so i don't repeat myself.

They want a public feedback without informing us?

A burnt tmnut building will be a sufficient feedback.

Image you've subscribed the HSBB 10mbps. In the beginning you're a happy guy coz you get 10mbps download speed as advertised, then for not long you notice that the download speed has been decreased to 30KB/s.

So you thought there might be something wrong with the server and try to make a call to TM and figure it out what's going on, end up they tell you that you've reach the monthly download limit so they've to cap your speed. To make thing even worst is that you've already signed 1 year contract with them so this cap thing will be gone along with you within a year.

If you want to know what's Fail Besar, this's a good example of Fail Besar.

capping of broadband line shouldn't hv happened or even attempted.

especially if it is more than 1mbps...and more important when we are in the digital age where everything is digitalised. we stream youtube, we upload pictures and videos of us on social network site. that alone can deplete the 10gb usage in a day (well, i f had the fast broadband, i'll upload vids of hd quality). dumb move tm...uber dumb i would say.

duh. did streamyx think we r still 1 year after independence?

This is ridiculous.Cap people's internet without even letting them know. What the hell is this?

10GB is way too little for today's standards.Besides, not everyone uses large bandwidth for illegal stuff. There are ways to use lots of bandwidth for legal stuff.

You know, there is some facts i gathered as im using capped internet in Aus.

Surfing LYN for 2 hours, takes about 100MB.Thats if you are in a chat thread,or an very active thread. So,that means surfing LYN for 100 hours of spamming /k,bye bye internets.

An hour of Team Fortress 2 takes about 50MB,with no mike.

An hour of a RTS games like Sins of Solar Empire,RA3,DoW2 takes about 15-20MB.No mike too.

A typical HD pictures takes about 1MB.So,some mass HD pictures search will take probably 50MB in a very short time.

A youtube video takes about 50MB on average.

In short, they should give at least 200GB per month.

I was wondering if my 1MB line was having problem or something, and about to call the customer service to ask...but now I know why....

HTTP download was 180KB+-, now 40KB/sec......

And what worst is that I'm still bound to the 1 year contract...

If I tell the monkeys the reason, u think they will let me downgrade it to 512KB combo? Since I don't see any difference between a 1MB and 512KB now.

Rest in pieces TM

Forget the CAP, what about the Packet Loss!!! 20% packet loss = can't do any international.

Pings = 150ms higher
Packet Loss = 20% or more

Magically at 5AM it is all fixed, but by 8AM it is broken again! This happens every single day. Every. Single. Day.

I am a heavy user so if they want to throttle my bandwidth then fine I can understand.
I think 10GB cap too low lar, should be minimum like P1 20GB or above.

Personally they throttle or not I don't really care,
I just want a stable connection. Damn it stop giving me disconnections ! mad.gif
