high speed is nothing if latency is high, to me.

i don't care about all of it, as long as latency is low.

hahaha so many ANGRY pirates and porno freaks in this thread. i'd say it's about time TM did something like that rclxm9.gif.

lol fool. there's many other things to do other than download pirate movies, games etc and p0n0s.

a complete Linux ISO would get u around 700MB to 4GB+ already. let's say you're involved into SOHO video editing with friends all over Malaysia and the format is in HD, that's gonna get u a whole lot of bandwidth u know.

there's many other things in the world besides pirates and p0n0s. i guess you're one of those that mindlessly download em yeah?

QUOTE(rockets @ Aug 28 2009, 04:12 PM)
yeah i'm sure you'll be downloading Linux every month. even then it's just 700MB, you'll still have plenty of quota left. just plan ahead if you know you'll be downloading something big. or stop being a poor ******* and just order the CD.

as for video editing, i'm sure the cap for the SOHO plan is going to be different than a home user. if you're running a business on a home internet plan, well it's your fault if you run out of bandwidth.

and stop being a downie. if i was mindlessly downloading illegal stuff, i'd be pissed off with the rest of these retards here.
*
dang i was influenced by /k/ for being a troll. my bad then laugh.gif

anyway capping or not, at least they have to provide better constant speed and lower the latency first before applying those capping limits. agreed?

QUOTE(prasys @ Aug 30 2009, 03:33 PM)
I would view it as this

1. Always on connection as in you plug it in and voila you're on. You don't have to dial up , wait for access . Its always there for you , unlike dial-up and such whereby its not always there due to busy servers on the other side and such

2. It means there is no time limit. You're allowed to stay it on for 24/7 , 365 days. So you'll not be charged on per usage

They didn't mention unlimited bandwidth

Lets take a look at India , shall we

http://convergence.in/blog/2009/02/26/airt...peed-on-demand/

Airtel (a broadband company) introduces cap on unlimited packages. So what can you understand from here ?
Unlimited usage ≠ Unlimited bandwidth. You want to know why is this , read TM's fine print. Its clearly mentioned there (or at least its hidden somewhere)
*
yes, i want to reaffirm prasys's statement that unlimited usage doesn't mean unlimited bandwidth. learnt this the hard way during Maxis Wireless broadband time.

see this Maxis promo:
user posted image

there stated "unlimited broadband access". unlimited broadband access means that u can use your modem to connect to the internet any time, any day, which in other words, unlimited usage.

but the 3GB quota is still imposed. so unlimited usage ≠ unlimited bandwidth

Dont u know TMNUT is being manage by a bunch of monkies that cant even speak proper or use proper term. Obviously Unlimited usage got many meaning. They are trying to mislead us.
*
the same thing goes for maxis last time, before they put the FUP to be visible to people. hideous FUP under the terms and conditions is really cheap tactics to me.

QUOTE(Invince_Z @ Aug 30 2009, 08:35 PM)
i woudn't mind to.

another matter of concern is, how many of the users willing to undergo such situation considering their "tak apa la" attitude?

and another thing to take into account is, such lawsuits may took months and even years. again...will the users willing to undergo such situation?
*
malaysian people wouldn't want like that due to "tak apa" attitude.

correction. the entire world is not in HD. is rtm, tv3, astro, etc. streaming in HD?

HELL NO!!!!!!

this backward country won't have the capabilities to let it's citizens watch tv in HD until the year 3030.
*
what baffles me is that RTM has that HD running for a while last time during testing period iianm.
