If i turn off EDGE, GPRS, 3G, will this affect using MMS - sending and receiving?

NO. I have my EDGE off and am able to send MMS and receive as well.

MMS has it's own settings. You will know if you use the ipcc file.

But turning it off wont solve my problem. I will want it when I dont have WIFI right? For now yes it will help until they activate my free data. Thats what the free 500MB is for BUT even when i get the 500MB allowance, it will still be bleeding off by itself without me using it.

Simple as placing back the settings and you're good to go. Not difficult dude. I've done this many time.

Need to be online, place the settings. Don't need, place gibberish words. Done

set push notification to Manual mode
How to: Settings -> Mail,Conctacts, Calenders -> Fetch New Data -> Push (Off) -> Fetch (Manually) -> then go Advanced -> your mail account -> Select Schedule (Manual)
that shoud do the trick...
NOTE: Settings "Enable 3G" to off will still allow EGDE data to stream through. but this option will save battery.

after ur free 500MB is activated, this is wat u should see: <Refer attachment>
they will not record ur kb usage, just when u start to surf. the rm0.01 will NOT be charged to ur credit. so just ignore it.
the only we to monitor ur data usage? link wat Tink said, check ur iphone data usage. remmeber to reset counter everymonth.

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask (admin can direct me to the rite thread mayb?) but apparently i can't access the wifi from my house wireless modem.

When I click App store, it only displays 'Loading...' for ages..

Anyone, any idea?

That does not help either setting Push Mail to Manual. Mail will still work behind the scene when there's internet connection. Checked and rechecked with Processes via SbSettings.

One more "problem" I am facing - wifi signal seems weak compare to my Nokia phone. Not comparing anything, just saying that it seems kind of weak. Is this the norm?

Not a single issue with Wifi. Mine is strong and it can be weak at times. No Biggy.

Firmware 3.0 has been reported to cause weak wifi connection. Rumour has that this will be fixed in the coming 3.1.

does that mean when I need to connect via Maxis network, I delete the fake VPN? but when I want to disable, I need to use WIFI and go back to that website and install the Fake APN? confused already

check whether are you connected to the WiFi network. go to Settings -> WiFi > [router SSID] -> IP address. check whether is the IP address column is blank.

do it via the .IPCC way, much easier. just enter gibberish words into the cellular data columns when you're don't intend to access the web via Maxis 3G/3DGE/GPRS.

only when you need to access it, place back the proper settings.

Delete all those VPN. Use the ipcc file which makes life simpler. This will enable Celular Data Network Columnhttp://forum.lowyat.net/topic/752226

Place this in Cellular Data as stated on the pinned thread.

APN: iPhone
Username: iPhone
Password: iPhone

If you wanna use EDGE, place the corect settings. Example:

APN: unet
Username: maxis
Password: wap

tot dont have to set anythying? y is this happen ya?i ask my fren & he said no need to set anything, straight away can use once upgrade to 3.0
