Hi,

Does Maxis accept trade in of 3G Iphone for 3GS?
*
Even if they do, the trade in price will not be attractive
IMO not much differences between them, at least not enough to fork up hundreds $ to upgrade.
Anyway just finished updating to 3.0.1, appstore application restore was easy, however all the 3rd party applications from cydia was a pain to re-install because itunes does not do backup on them. Took me a whole 7 hours to finish it yawn.gif . Lucky today is my day off work.

Can somebody help me im first time iphone user.

I have oS 3.0 running on my iphone3g. my iphone is jailbroken. and I have installed OpenSSH from Cydia, and also have enabled it using BossPref. Now, i want to ssh file using Itunnel 2.7.
AFter installing itunnel 2.7, i click on the "itunnel" to make it running. then I click file browser, and entered 127.0.0.1 host, root user, and alpine password. Then "Login", but an error pops up  " Software Caused Connection Abort". Anyone know how to fix it? or is there any better alternatives to SSH files into ur iphone ?

if all you need is transfer files i will recommend iphone browser or diskaid. Diskaid is available as a try for a limited period.
However if you need to run command, apart from running ssh you can install the terminal on cydia and run it directly on your iphone.
I used itunnel a couple of times in the past but hardly ever need it these days.

One more "problem" I am facing - wifi signal seems weak compare to my Nokia phone. Not comparing anything, just saying that it seems kind of weak. Is this the norm?

Firmware 3.0 has been reported to cause weak wifi connection. Rumour has that this will be fixed in the coming 3.1.

iPhone Generation : iPhone 3G 8GB
Unlocked? (or Part Number): ultrasnow, Australian Vodafone set
Current Firmware : 3.0.1
iTunes Version : 8.2.1.6
PC/MAC : Windows XP Home
Jailbreaking software :Redsnow
Problem Encountered : The icons on my springboard gets rearranged alphabetically SUDDENLY after turning on and off the iphone- instead of how I set it up. This occurs on turning on and off the iphone (maybe 3 out of 10 times) and sometimes after syncing with itunes (1 out of 10). This is really fustrating as I have 11 pages of icons and it takes heaps of time to rearrange according to the way I want it. Doesn't occur everytime, but say maybe once a week on average.

Steps Taken So Far : It occurred on the firmware 3.0, now after upgrading to 3.0.1 still the same. Erased all contents and settings and restore firmware again, still the same. Tried not restoring from backup but set up as new phone--> Install my stuff one by one, still the same.

Other Information/Remarks
I have another iphone 3GS 16GB which is officially unlocked. Both with the same applications installed. Never have this problem. Is anyone experiencing the auto arranging icons alphabetically apart from me?
I installed Springback and that backups my springboard arrangement, restore it from there whenever the problem arise.
Also SSH into my phone's private/var/mobile/library/preference to backup the arrangement file com.apple.springboard.plist manually. It is this file that gets reset to the default one causing auto rearrangement....
The auto arranging of my iphone in alphabetical order is very annoying. Anyone with any solutions? Thanks rclxms.gif
