no email account has been setup on my iPhone yet. Not sure about the negative amounts. It does that by itself. At this moment I just off my iPhone. If not sure bleed dry. I just emailed Hotlink and ask them to revert all these charges since I should have gotten my free 500MB data since the moment I walked out of their centre. How long they take to activate it is their own problem.

How can my iPhone use data when it is sitting idle? I just note that I put my iPhone down at 11:00am and you see at 11:02am, it uses rm2 worth of data!

ok will go read - thanks!

But turning it off wont solve my problem. I will want it when I dont have WIFI right? For now yes it will help until they activate my free data. Thats what the free 500MB is for BUT even when i get the 500MB allowance, it will still be bleeding off by itself without me using it.

One more "problem" I am facing - wifi signal seems weak compare to my Nokia phone. Not comparing anything, just saying that it seems kind of weak. Is this the norm?

uoh oh! i went to http://unlockit.co.nz/
installed the fake VPN and now I cant make or receive calls.

Added on August 2, 2009, 1:46 pmi can delete the profile and get back to normal but I think i follow the instructions wrongly.

do i set select "Disable Data (Fake APN)" or " Custom APN"?
I selected Disable Data but after that cant make or receive calls

when you say - "Simple as placing back the settings and you're good to go. Not difficult dude. I've done this many time. Need to be online, place the settings. Don't need, place gibberish words. Done"

does that mean when I need to connect via Maxis network, I delete the fake VPN? but when I want to disable, I need to use WIFI and go back to that website and install the Fake APN? confused already

Place this in Cellular Data column (if you don't wanna be charged for usage)

APN: iPhone
Username: iPhone
Password: iPhone

If you wanna use 3G/EDGE (where you'll be charged), place the correct settings.

APN: unet
Username: maxis
Password: wap

first you'll need to enable carrier bundle support in iTunes, then update/transfer the .IPCC file from iTunes to your phone.

guide can be found at http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/752226

Ok all kautim. I miss the part about "Enabling Carrier Bundle Support in iTunes 8.2 (Windows)" - thats why cant see the ipcc file.
Now i just put an x behind all the settings like this -
APN: unetx
Username: maxisx
Password: wapx

want to use data, just remove the x. no need retype

Thanks teikwing and davidgary73 for helping out.... notworthy.gif

This morning I could not turn on my iphone. I connected it to the charger and the battery was flat. The night before I had charge it up to 100%. I might have left the WIFI on and email running, I forgot, but with WIFI on and it not been used at all (standby mode)- can the battery still deplete on its own?

Please advice thank you

iPhone Generation : 3Gs
Firmware: 3.0.1
Unlocked? (or Part Number): officially unlock
iTunes Version : 8.2
PC/MAC : PC
Jailbreaking software : None
Problem Encountered : Battery totally depleted overnight
Steps Taken So Far : recharged back
Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) : N/A
Other Information/Remarks : Just asking if Wifi is set to ON and with possibly Email running, even if the phone is on standby not been used at all, does it drains the battery?

probably that 3 pin plug (charger) problem. try plugging at a different room to see if there is anything wrong with that electrical outlet. if doesnt work still then take it back to maxis or where ever you bought it from
