QUOTE(hihihehe @ Mar 11 2019, 03:39 PM) Been seeing ENT specialist since 2016. Reason for me to go to ENT is because my nephew hit me with his toys direct to my nose and it went bleeding non-stop. Went to ER at Assunta and got referred to ENT (Dr Saras) took an XRay and found out the reason bleed non-stop because of deviated septum. I always have migraine and nose block issues and thought it’s just some normal sick didn’t know it’s because of my deviated septum causes all those sickness. Been follow up frequently about half a year and decided to have a procedure (Balloon Sinuplasty) for better air flow (able to claim company insursnce). It was great until recently I have start facing nose block again, went back to my doctor and did some checks and found out I have another problem whereby allergy to dust which caused my chronic sinusitis always have tonsil infection, phlegm and fever. Undergo some treatment for my allergy it seems better, but still facing some nose block whenever I was about to sleep. Doctor suggest to have a sleep test to monitor my breathing during my sleeps and the result is very bad and severe. Did try out CPAP mask but I didn’t like it and I can’t sleep well with it, not sure if I’m not used to it or what and I sounds like Darth Vader during sleep lol. Spoke to Dr Sara’s what are other option, she suggest turbinate reduction whereby to burn of some tissues for better airway. Just done the procedure last week, and went back follow up with her this morning. I can breath much better and the doctor is very generous. She even gave her mobile number so we can contact her at anytime if I’m not feeling well or have any questions. I even recommeded her to my friends which face sinus problems and he’s seeing her since. Not sure if you agree with me but I highly recommend her. I forgot to mentioned she’s specialise is allergies too. Dr N. For ear specialist, I greatly recommend Doctor Chang from Pantai Hospital, he and his assistant has been very polite.
Got my right ear stuck and went to see the doctor, and I was asking so many questions as Im nervous to see all those odd-looking tool that he is going to insert into my ear. But the doctor has been friendly, answering all my questions patiently. Greatly recommend! ![]() |

Hi all, just wanted to share an embarrassed experience.
On end of Jan, i accidentally stuck by fishbone. Then i try traditional method like bread, water, vinegar and it did not go off. After two days i went to see ENT in KPMC puchong. The ENT "specialist' try to look for it by using a wooden stick to press my tongue. But i automatically gagged and the "specialist" look like tak puas and ask me how to check, he then simply give me a difflam forte and say maybe it was just a scratch. Then i went to a GP and the GP also suspect the same thing (maybe just a scratch) but still suggest me maybe go to another ENT specialist and check since i gagged so much and he couldnt check as well. The GP prescribe me some basic sore throat medicine, vitamin C, amoxicillin. After a few days, the sore throat did go away, and i did not few any discomfort and pain during swallowing. So the i also think maybe it was just a scratch. After few days later, the sore throat came back, along with nose block. I then go and see the GP again, and GP suspect maybe the bacteria haven clear finish yet. So again he prescribe me another antibiotic and all. The sore throat and nose block came and go, came and go for three weeks. Some of the night, i even feel hard to breathe. Until one midnight, i can clearly feel my throat swollen. I then checked o the mirror. Half of my throat is clearly swollen, Left side of the uvula is expand till half while right side is normal. I then quickly in the morning take MC and look for GP again, he suggest me go see ENT better. The next day, i booked UMSC Dr. Zul (my cousin recommend de), in the evening. Dr Zul also tried to use wooden stick method but i gagged as well. He calmly said :"Never mind, we try other method, using scope." He then insert the scope through nose, it feel strange. Then he realise there is a tinyyyy littly fish bone on my right tonsil. Then i finally realise, all these sleepless night and terrified sore throat is caused by a fishbone. This fish bone is in my throat for more than a month. The doctor suggest need take out fast as it has caused serious bacterial infection. And since i gagged so much, i need to undergo general anesthetic. After that, Dr Zul prescribe me some cetirizine (allergic drug) and cefuroxime (antibiotic). My sore throat then clear within few days. But still, my nasal passage is still block, so until now i still need to take cetirizine once every day to slowly clear the block. Dr Zul said maybe its cause by allergy, not sure. Besides, he also suggest to exercise more. All of these happen before, during and after CNY. Moral of the story, please dont take fishbone lightly. If ever stuck, please do check with PROFESSIONAL ENT specialist. This tiny, little, not-hurtful fishbone almost cost my life. Please do check thoroughly and do make sure no foreign body is stuck. So, I do recommend Dr Zul, he is quite patient and he has a willing ear. Willing to share his thought and willing to answer. |

No didnt get a doctor but PTL... one day it just went away all on its own. During my research, alot of doctors dont know about PET and they give wrong diagnostics.. but your symptoms does not sound like PET... more like some water stuck in there. |

My experience of visiting Dr Koay Cheng Eng last week (nov 2019) for nose bleeding. Made an appointment, went there in the morning, waited for about an hour before got to see him. He spent <1 min asked me just one question then did a scope follow by anesthetic spray, before I manage to ask any question, he chased me out, told me to wait outside because the anesthetic spray will take effect in about 10 mins. I waited outside his clinics and during the 10 mins, he managed to see 2 more patients. I went into the clinic again after 10 mins, he told me to sit down and immediately he did nasal cauterization to my nose. (I did not even know it was a nasal cauterization during that moment, not after I google it out after I went back). After it's done, he told me to come back in 2 weeks time. Before I have an opportunity to ask any question like what procedure did he jsut do, why did it happen, will it cure me permanently, what precautions after the procedures etc. He just kept chasing me out, "my staff outside will explain further, talk to my staff outside, see my in 2 weeks times...". when I talked to the staffs outside, (I'm not sure if they are nurses or clerks as they are not in uniform), they just couldn't explain much, couldn't answer my doubt except telling me to apply the nasal spray and cream. Total time spent maybe <5mins, damage of RM460.35.
Despite some positive comments about him in the forum, I think KCE is just impatient, not willing to explain anything at all to you, and just wanna see maximum patients in the shortest time, unless you are a potential surgery candidate. Could any one recommend any better ENT specialist? This post has been edited by Illidan: Dec 3 2019, 03:46 PM |
