My experience of visiting Dr Koay Cheng Eng last week (nov 2019) for nose bleeding. Made an appointment, went there in the morning, waited for about an hour before got to see him. He spent <1 min asked me just one question then did a scope follow by anesthetic spray, before I manage to ask any question, he chased me out, told me to wait outside because the anesthetic spray will take effect in about 10 mins. I waited outside his clinics and during the 10 mins, he managed to see 2 more patients. I went into the clinic again after 10 mins, he told me to sit down and immediately he did nasal cauterization to my nose. (I did not even know it was a nasal cauterization during that moment, not after I google it out after I went back). After it's done, he told me to come back in 2 weeks time. Before I have an opportunity to ask any question like what procedure did he jsut do, why did it happen, will it cure me permanently, what precautions after the procedures etc. He just kept chasing me out, "my staff outside will explain further, talk to my staff outside, see my in 2 weeks times...". when I talked to the staffs outside, (I'm not sure if they are nurses or clerks as they are not in uniform), they just couldn't explain much, couldn't answer my doubt except telling me to apply the nasal spray and cream. Total time spent maybe <5mins, damage of RM460.35.
Despite some positive comments about him in the forum, I think KCE is just impatient, not willing to explain anything at all to you, and just wanna see maximum patients in the shortest time, unless you are a potential surgery candidate.

Could any one recommend any better ENT specialist?

Another update revisiting KCE after 2 weeks time. Went there in the morning waited 2 hours. He used scope to check my nose and I could see my blood vessel are much expose compare to 2 weeks ago. Again in <1 min time he sprayed anesthetic into my nose then told me to wait outside for 10 mins, no questions asked. After 10 mins, he did nose cauterization again, this time to much larger area. He said it should solve the problem. "talked to my staffs outside, they will explain to you etc..." Not allowing me to ask any question as usual. Then he suggested me to do surgery. When I try to ask about the surgery, he told me to talk to his staffs outside. Oh God, we are talking about surgery and he could just delegate to his counter staffs! He then told me to follow up in 2 weeks time again.

After some research on the internet, I found out that nose cautery would take 2-6 weeks for healing. KCE just ask you to visit him every 2 weeks, not allowing your nose to completely heal, he could do nose cautery for unlimited time?! There will also be a risk of greater nose bleeding if nose cautery is repeated before the wound is completely heal. All this I am not made aware of.

My personal experience is, he spent minimum time on you, maximize his patients. I were all left in blind, everything I would have to google out myself, then what are the consultation charges for?! I would look for another doctor somewhere else.
