Well, whatever it is, by the 31st, I hope to have the 3GS in my hand.
You think Maxis will allow tethering? |

I've placed a booking for the Apple's White 32GB iPhone 3G(s). After sending in the booking application, received a SMS from Maxis.
Content is: RM0 Thank yu for booking an iPhone 3G S. Ref No. XXXXXXXXXX. Pls pay RM200 deposit: Maxis (whatever centre that yu chose) by XX/XX/XX (date that yu chose). Check email and print confirmation email. Regards, Joey If not sure about it. From my personal thinking, the introduction of Apple's 3G(s) is really killing the 3G. Anyway, I'm new in this Apple iPhone thread. Will be jumping in this bandwagon soon. This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Jul 15 2009, 04:57 PM |

Actually I bought it on impulsive instinct. Didn't really read or do research on it. I've heard some news regarding the latest iPhone, nevertheless, I purely bought it because of the DESIGN. Purely on design, nothing much, nothing less. Regards, I'm book marking this thread for convenience sake. Hope yu guys will help me out. Thank yu. Regards, Joey |

this post serve as a preliminary warning to all those who spam or who's post is offtopic. (examples are shown below)
anymore of these and you will be reported to the moderator. again, like what i've mentioned few pages back, keep the "i can't login/proceed to booking page etc." to yourself. call Maxis CS or head to any Maxis Centre regarding your booking if you can't get through the webpage. the sole purpose of this thread is for discussion on Maxis's rate plans and to serve as guide for buyers. it's not a medium for chit-chat, gain post counts and spill all your complaints for not getting through the booking page bla bla bla. unrelated posts and spams will be deleted. and for those who are new, kindly read up the first page for all the information regarding Maxis iPhone 3G/3GS. me & bro davidgary will be updating the thread as often as we can as soon as new information are available. Dude's could I clarify with you guys -
Which works out better for a Maxis postpaid user? 1) Keep my Value Plus 80 , buy iPhone 3GS with prepaid (which I am not going to use) and then subscribe to Unlimited 3G for rm99; or 2) Purchase iPhone 3GS with iValue 2 (1GB) [12 months]; or 3) Purchase iPhone 3GS with iData 2 (500MB) / 3(3GB) [12 months] Am trying to decide on a plan rate that would be best value for both calls and data. Hope one of you can help me out here? Thanks! |

Looks a bit tensed up after "teikwing" taken a swing...Anyway, back on track.
Alright, from my understanding, for the 12 months tie-in with Maxis with Value1 package, to put it simple, at the end of the month I should be paying RM100+RM8 (SMS add-on)? Total of RM108 per month? (Let's say I'm not exceeding the air time limit) What about the Data Plan? I'm currently using The Value Plan RM50. Been with Maxis for some time. I'm more concern on the end month bill. I wouldn't want to be jumpy after seeing my bill, do yu? Regards, Joey p.s: I'm a simple user. Monthly calls had been approx. RM50 to RM80 on calls and SMS all this while. I'm those conventional phone users-calls/SMS/MMS. Surfing the Net using iPhone is a new experience to me. So, I might be You Tube-ing a bit...any ideas? Joey: For the RM8 sms add-on, provided you use the 500 SMS'es only, more than that, there will be additional charges, and I believe the 500 SMS'es applies only to Maxis numbers only as well, not to Digi/Celcom.

"raptar_eric",
Ya, I understood the SMS charges. What I'm concern more is the Plan that suits my usage. 500 SMS'es for me, would be considered heavy. I might range myself about 300 SMS'es per month. Regards, Joey p.s: If I'm not mistaken, it's Maxis to Maxis for RM0.10/SMS This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Jul 15 2009, 05:42 PM |

(0.15cents per minute for extra calls made) 2. do you have any supplementary lines or plan to have one soon? (iValue is a standalone plan and is not allowed not pair with any supp lines) 3. do you SMS a lot? (iValue has separate SMS charges, 10cents per SMS is quite expensive IMO) if you're comfortable with the plan you're on now, just get the iData RM50 or RM30 (allows you moderate usage of data per month, as number of apps on iPhone utilise data usage) or else get the phone through the Hotlink plan, no strings attached. It's kind of a question on why would Maxis implement the RM8 charges for the SMS. Why wouldn't they stamp it together with the call rates?
For simplicity sake, I understand. But why? RM8 for SMS is just a little bit arkward. Regards, Joey p.s:Come to think of it, why would Maxis milking away my RM8? This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Jul 16 2009, 09:54 AM |
