Are you sure 28th?

I went to the Maxis Store in Jusco Sri Kembangan, they said "EARLIEST" 31st July, but maybe later in August.....

I just paid the deposit for iData 3 for 32gb iPhone

@bontotalan:
again, do read up properly. launch date and collection date is two different thing. this issue has been discussed over and over and over again.

the date was given by a sales person who will be doing the Maxis launch roadshow who attended to raptar_eric. that's what been told.

and other from discussions on rates and plans, please post all of your discussions on the another 3GS thread. (i'm surprised when you can quote what i've said without realising that)

@Deathmax:
the bolded red part is meant for your reading too.

Might be even later, according to this article. Only 18 launch countries will get it on time. I wonder is Malaysia included in that 18.

Depends as i said.. I don't know if they have a direct route for you to change to prepaid now.

Prepaid to prepaid only takes 0.5 days for me from Hotlink to Digi. And another 1 day from Digi to Hotlink =P I think postpaid has more paperwork and more messy =/

unless u convert to principal line..

is 3GB data usage a month too much, just enough or not enough for a normal occasional internet browsing and minimal GPS?

seems like iphone 3gs 16gb with corporate individual plan idata3 (RM99) is RM100 cheaper then consumer plan.

I got quoted by Maxis account manager RM1590 compare to my girlfriend pay RM1690 for the same phone and same idata plan

Let's say for the iValue 1 which is at RM100 monthly and comes with free 333 minutes of local calls, I will be charged for my calls after I used up 333 minutes right? So this isn't like those commitment plans?

If I were to have a supplementary line under the iValue 1, what plan would the supplementary line be on?

The talk time is basically RM50 / 0.15s = 333 minutes. Anything more, you'll pay the standard RM0.15 per minute.
I don't think you can have a supp. line for the iValue plans (for new Maxis users). As what the SA told me, there isn't no friends and family etc..
For those existing, I think they'll stick to their old plans. So there isn't any free talk time between the iPhone user and their supps.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

it'd be logic that... if u're taking any of the iValue plans.. it means u're converting from your existing plan to new one.. the rates and benefits might be changed..

@yongkailoon:
yes. once you're over the 333 minutes given, you'll be charged on the stated rate.

you can still have your supp lines under iValue but let's say if your supp line is under Family Plus which offers credit sharing between the main (you) and the supp previously, it's won't be valid anymore once you're on iValue. and calls you made to the supp will be not free but charged at a 20% discount on the stated iValue rate. however, calls made from the supp to you will still be free.

@fr33dom:
i'm not too sure about your case but IINM, you will need to be the primary line to take up iValue.

it is actually possible for you to upgrade your subline to a principal line (main line) while keeping the same number, and then you can get the iValue plan.

you can do this when you book online on the Maxis website. the name/number/IC you gotta fill in according to your current main line's details first, then tick the "register for supplementary number" and fill in your subline number too.

once you get to the next page, there's an option saying if you want to UPGRADE to PRINCIPAL (mainline). tick that.

then you can register for iValue plan. and don't have to change your phone number. and you are no longer a subline of course.

PS: if you're not confident with doing the booking process, you can always go to the Maxis centre itself and ask them to guide you through. i'd recommend you to do that. That way, you can also one shot pay your deposit and collect it from there on collection day.

@LaiN87,
Unfortunately not all of us qualify for Hotlink Youth. I know I certainly don't ! sad.gif

@fr33dom,
By doing that upgrade, U will NO longer be able to enjoy Family Plus benefits yah? Just please take note.

@Andrewhajime & sysh,
With regards to upgrade/downgrade of plans

"Policy-wise it is not clearly spelled out, so some people may not do it. For those who will do it, by terminating the service (idata 2) to assign a new one (idata 3) will trigger the penalty to kick-in, which will require a waiver which will require approval."

I hope the above answers all questions about upgrading and downgrading biggrin.gif
