@ah1, If you're on an unlimited plan, it'll just be RM99 under GPRS services. Anything more than that, they'll tell you the usage, as in 7000kb and charge u RM35/RM70 for it depending on whether your data cost is 0.5sen/kb or 1sen/kb @mannequion, It's capped at 3GB - isn't that what's stated on the chart?! QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 21 2009, 02:53 PM) @soonwai, Er.. there is a difference between the i3G and i3GS so if she looks properly she probably will be able to tell you got a new phone. Hopefully she won't notice. :-) I think the difference is fairly inconspicuous unless you have the 3GS next to the 3G then it's glaringly obvious.

I was looking forward similar features just like phone call keep track

@soonwai, Unless she hangs out at this forum she's probably not going to even know the difference if U put your phone down. If she notices just tell her you swap the old one for new lah; not like you're going to get into loads of trouble doing that @TuX, For navigation, yes I believe u will be using data services.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 21 2009, 03:29 PM) @mannequion, The one on Post #2 of this thread Thanks tinkerbel! Due to the limited access to internet now. I m not sure what i can see now answer my queries. I m referring to maxis.com.my, but there's no statement regarding the 3GB data usage... I came across to read the comments on this blog. http://www.malaysianwireless.com/2009/07/maxis-iphone-3gs-plans-are-out.htmlThe reader commented : Never ever get the iData Plan. Which is against planning... any comments on this? Thanks

@mannequion, Er.. the RM99 Unlimited plan offered by Maxis is also capped at 3GB Just that not many people know it or think so that's all so it really makes no difference. Also, nokia2003 has mentioned over and over again 250MB is more than suffice.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Jul 21 2009, 02:17 PM) The max contract period of 12 months for port in customers is actually an MNP regulation set by the SKMM. It's item 25 in their faq on this page. http://www.skmm.gov.my/consumer/mnp.aspAiyo..like that i have nothing to say, better not go against the government these days, otherwise i may end up flying off the MACC building..hahahha

All the while I though the iData3 plan is the same as 3G unlimited access that also pay RM99 per month. Aren't they the same?

Ok hypothetically speaking, if a non-maxis user port-in to hotlink prepaid then from there sign up for ivalue plan, will he/she still be considered as a port-in customer hence not allowed to sign up for the 24 month contract?

Hey guys, just wondering. Right now I am using subline to my family plan, which is obviously postpaid. Is it advisable to convert it to hotlink for my 3gs? Also, do I have to do it a day before purchase?
Also would like to know is hotlink cheaper for SMS? I SMS quite often, and was told postpaid is not ideal for sms. Thanks!

You can still carry on with ur family plan but you need to subscribe to one of the idata plans to enable you to purchase the phone at a discounted price. Otherwise you have to buy the phone outright at the retail price. Not sure about the timing of conversion though. Yes you are right, if u sms a lot you are better off with hotlink as the rates are cheaper.
