I had read over the maxis printout PDF form of Iphone agreement policy. They never mention you can get the RM 200 refund in anyway. But i wonder how does the Maxis staff provides RM 200 refund if they fail to deliver? Why you just wait until 30 days, surely the phone will be there. I've been waiting so frustrating just like you, end of the day, it paid off and i got my phone.
u paid rm200 to commit on to the booking....
same has to come from them....
jz look at ur booking slip
it does states the collection time is 30days from booking date
so that's the max....
if they want us to commit by paying the deposit for rm200
they too should bound to deliver it at least on time after 30days, not exceed it.

In Malaysia, I don't think a verbal contract is standing, anyway, if you've waited for 30 days, why don't just continue waiting? If you don't like the waiting so much, then why did you opt to pre book an iPhone?
*
I was going after Maxis's plan and not mainly for the phone. Since they bundled together with iPhone, I might as well give it a try right, but it's a different story for me now. All these hassle for a phone definitely does not worth it. Some gets early some gets later. Check out some of the posts, some have to wait X number of days while some waited for almost 2 months.

Might as well sign up for the plan and get HTC but since it's not yet 30 days, I will just continue wait then blink.gif

Nope, i booked far far away from sunway. I book at Ipoh Maxis Centre.

When they ask, "have you receive a phone call from maxis"... Just say YES! and mention that the person who called you to come collect the phone when 30 days has reached.

This what i told them smile.gif

Despite their policy mentioning no refund on deposit, some forumers have been reporting alternatives of getting their refund back should they do not get their Iphone on time - and that includes if they cannot wait any further. smile.gif

Hi Bro,

I will not be able to install any 3rd party programmes without jailbreak right?

Wait few months to get from Machines? You mean machines will be officially selling iphones in few months time? drool.gif  Sorry, i am a little outdated, hardly log on to lowyat nowadays due to busy working schedules... cry.gif

Ok , regarding the jailbreak stuff, we have and official thread here on the forums for that smile.gif, and the answer is yes. The truth is Machines are selling the phone but the problem is that you would need to wait for the stock, cause Maxis is taking over the Iphone market at this point.

@Kenix L
its Apple's partner, Maxis. Do you really feel that Maxis or Apple makes more money if they sell the phone outright ?

hmm yes? Maxis earn money by getting monlty subscription fee. When you have iphone u sure want to have internet that y they provide 500mb and if u read carefully. Ur line need to be active and also they get commission for selling iphone. Apple no need to say la. They sell iphone. They sure make money

The truth is, what do you want from your phone, If you want to be a normal Iphone user or a person who would jailbreak. By jailbreaking (like me) you avoid the warranty. IF you do get the phone from anywhere else, for example lowyat, you still dont have warranty, the only warranty is with the shop and if they cant repair it completely, no difference actually.

So bro, if you could wait i would suggest a few more months and get it from Machines. If you really can't, then I would suggest the usual, start lining up at MAXIS for you 1 month wait sad.gif
*
getting from machines? they can sell you in that place without any maxis plan? what i ask is that they can sell you older models like Iphone 3G but not 3GS. i really want to get one for my gf but all i know is that i have to subscribe maxis super expensive plans!!

Hi Bro...Oh sorry, i did not make myself clear...i mean Maxis in this context. Maxis using iphone to lure users to subscribe to Maxis and earn more money this way, than just selling iphone itself straight to buyer, with a one time off profit.

Perhaps Apple could consider appointing another partner for distributing iphone in Malaysia, to enable people outside from Maxis network from owning iphone. I believe this benefits Apple in terms of sales, as iphone sales volume will definitely be few fold higher than currently, which only restricted to Maxis subscribers.

Machines should still be selling the Iphone 3G-unless they are having a worldwide shortage on that as well, which I doubt it. Why not you try dropping by any Machines outlet to ask them instead? Since the 3GS is all the hype now, 3G should still be okay.

no, since Maxis is the ONLY legit distributor/importer of iphones, so Machines get their phones from Maxis and is also bound by Maxis terms & conditions, which is now only contract applications are allowed to book. This applies for 3GS though, for 3G i dun think u need to sign any contract.

there are a few (or maybe just one) MEP that enables booking via prepaid, thats how i got mine, Maxis service sucks so i really dont want to sign their contract, please read previous posts for more info.

simple, dont get it from apple distributors, they're the last vendors on maxis list to get the phones, go directly to Maxis Center or any MEP to book your iphone, but u must be ready to subscribe to contract, contract subscriptions apply for all official iphones in malaysia regardless of vendor.

either that or u wait until all the hype dies down or when there's ex-stock for an outright purchase.

if you havent noticed my previous posts, i too subscribe to the prepaid plan, if you go to any Maxis Centers, confirm u will not be able to take hotlink plan unless this has been changed, anyway last time i checked, still cant.

only 1 MEP that i know of is allowing booking via prepaid.
