QUOTE I called to Machines just now, they told me the stock may arrive on 18th Aug, I was like "What!". For your information, i booked on 24 July and paid the deposit on 28th July. you r lucky if you get the phone early than me which I suspect it is common for the people book from Maxis instead of Machines please be informed, the final date for payment of prebooking for batch 1 (start receiving iPhone 3GS) was 24th July. This means you will need to have made payment by 24th. In the booking page, it does mention this condition.

@fangcheng right now, its not confirmed when stock will arrive. as we've seen, some parties will take advantage and make promises. do try to get them to put the date in black and white, and try to get a refund clause. For machines, we normally do not refund bookings for Mac or other accessories... so no changes there. @xonius AFAIK, the bookings are all centralised at Maxis HQ @ KLCC. So if Maxis says they are not accepting, but the shop you went to did accept, don't be surprised if they call you later with an explanation, but no phone. Caveat emptor

@Iroci your case is exactly what Maxis is trying to avoid... they want people to use iPhone on their network, otherwise where is their business?

i think our Fuyoh friends can only get in if they upgrade all their towers to 3G first.
what's the point of a carrier that doesn't support 3G?

I'm glad I got my iPhone 3G from Vodafone NZ, a year ago. I have to say, I wouldn't switch to Maxis, even though they discount my iPhone, cos it looks like they are not serious about iPhone at all... maybe there's more to it than I can see... after all, I'm also a kuli only ... but as a potential customer... Maxis is not showing me that they can provide a acceptable level of service... to justify being the exclusive iPhone customer.

Apple does have a very strict warranty process... they can only send out refurbished sets for warranty claims. They may 'absolutely' not sell you a refurb set as a new set.

@Kenix L its Apple's partner, Maxis. Do you really feel that Maxis or Apple makes more money if they sell the phone outright ?
