I was there (Maxis Centre, The Gardens) for the fourth time (God knows tongue.gif) and they aren't giving any to walk-ins and 'try luck' people hehehe! Each of those phones that arrive from HQ will be tagged to a particular customer detail. And they don't have any extras. I can also confirm that the 'hey, I got a call from Maxis' will not work anymore, at least in The Gardens. This is because they will be notifying by SMS/email. You will need to show proof of receiving one of those notifications to collect phone. Maxis is no longer calling people to collect phones anymore due to this 'try luck' problem.

Yes, for those who is ngam ngam one month, just proceed straight to Maxis and demand for it. They say 30 days so lets make them fulfill it. Protectors at RM6x is pretty ok liao considering some brands going all the way to RM1xx. Actually I find those pasar malam cases pretty ok. They cost like RM10 but the same sold at the mall is around RM2x-3x.

yeah but please take a good look at what protector ur buying. I made a huge mistake, being n00b an all, bought an Rm40 flip case that looks good and slim, but when i tried to charge, realized (duh) a fatal flaw, it doesnt have a hole for the charger to plug in, really2 stupid mistake. But now got meself an sgd40 belkin case instead haha

lotus_man: Tell them you wanna book the iPhone 3Gs and they would ask what plans you choosing, the colour and how many years contract. Booking fee is RM 200. When you collect your iPhone on the day itself, you just pay the iPhone price and deduct RM 200 from it. The RM 200 is like a deposit but it will be minus out from your iPhone price when you collect and pay. That's all.

lotus_man: Yes you will have to pay RM1090 only for the iPhone itself. But there is another prepayment which is Rm 620 for 24 months iValue 2. It will be credited back to your monthly bill evenly for 5 months.

So when you collect, you pay Rm 1090 (for iPhone) + RM 620 (prepayment for 5 months) = RM 1710.

RM 620 / 5 = RM 124
So, the for the first 5 months of your monthly bill, you minus out RM 124 from the bill.

Yesterday I bought a new case from Capdase called the Flexi2 Soft Frame (I don't fully remember the name). It looks like a hard crystal case on first sight but when you give it a second look and feel it, its actually soft silicone material. The rim is crystal clear while the back of it is matte and frosted. Colors available are Turquoise, Pink, Frosted White and Light Grey. I like the frosted area especially the matte finish because it keeps finger prints away while the rim is crystal clear to 'show off' the shiny iphone chrome bezel. Its not thick but still offer complete protection. When you hold it, its like just holding an iphone without a case. Cut-offs and button locations are accurate too.

Accessories are made complete with a screen protector, rear logo protector, plastic stand and pouch. All for RM68 at Machines (Gardens). Some places are selling it at RM78-88. Skip those places. Probably Lowyat Garage can sell cheaper.

I dont know whats with ur triple post. You can purchase an Iphone but must comes with contract. Postpaid or Prepaid if not mistaken. and also assuming you switch to iValue plan, you can keep ur own number no problem =) Thats what I do now.

After waiting for one month after my iPhone arrived and I'm not allow to get it with prepaid plan as promised during the booking, I decide to cancel the order and get back my deposit, well, I must said forcing people take the contract by onhold iPhone DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. Guess Maxis is doing really doing good job by screwing up customer and itself.

With this type of approach to piss off customer, I can forsee more market share is losing. If their concern is people might bought the phone with prepaid plan and switch to use other telco, it just doesn't make sense since Hotlink is offering monthly 500mb 3G data transfer for one year with existing Hotlink number, I think this is attractive enough the retain the customer. Besides, I'm a Maxis user and already using Maxis prepaid for 7-8 years, which has no plan to switch to other telco, but I might rethink about switching due to what I been treated with this iPhone purchasing experience.

Pls PM me which shop in Penang able to offer prepaid plan for iPone 3GS 32G for now.
