this is what i do when charging....

if it hit 100%, just let it charged for 1/2 hour more... dont worry.. ur batt wont explode....

my 100% last longer doing this method....

my battery seems improve after firmware 3.1 update. or maybe it's just me.

my friend bought an iphone 3gs 32gb black from maxis...he did jailbreak with either 3.0 and 3.0.1
but he noticed that his iphone drain battery very fast and phone is extremely hot...

100% and go to bed, wake up left 30%...(btw he turned off all the 3G/bluetooth/wifi/etc...)
after that, he tried to remove maxis/digi sim or turn on flight mode and 100% wake up remain 97%...
yesterday he did restore to 3.1 with sim, 100% wake up still remain 99%...

thus, is tis the jailbreak problem or firmware problem?

any pros may helps to solve tis prob? thanks for advance...

yeah.. same feeling. The battery can last longer a bit after upgrade to 3.1

Would more ppl who upgraded to 3.1 clarify on this? I've been googling forums regarding battery life on 3.1, all I could see r mixed comment of better and worse...
Regarding standby times, I am on 3.0.1 and would only have 0-1% drained throughout my sleep.. Settings with everything off of course.. So I doubt it's an improvement in 3.1...

Well i did upgrade to fw 3.1 and i did felt the improvement in terms of batt life. Or perhaps its just a placebo effect hihihi

urmp...i`m very new in iphone....how i can determine what software running & how to remove all those battery drainer....`

as i remember, there is always a pop up mentioned about this application not for iphone xxxxx(cant remember full text but it`s like indicate some application running behind...how i`m going to check it?)

This just happened to me half an hour ago. Fully charged to 100%. then surf for 20mins and the battery dropped to 75%. Then suddenly I noticed it went back up to 85%. Anyway mine seems to be draining faster today I noticed. Mine everything is on except push and notification.

same as me.. iphone battery drain like drinking water awhile then need to change ad.. even i off everything just play game for 20 minute.. then drain almost half de.. omg

if u play games n safari, ofcorse batt will die fast lar. thats d cons of iphone, it has the functions but battery cant support it. Get ready to buy Morphie Juice Air pack

With 3.1 I too can see that battery life has improved a little. Anyways I always switch off my 3G completely unless I am outstation or something and also switch off Bluetooth when I am not driving. Helps a lot as I am able to get home most days with about 20-25% battery life left.

Mind you I surf, facebook and play games a lot throughout the day especially lunch time.. LOL!

but to me this 3g is really battery killer. when i use my non-iphone phone with 3g on all the time, used to get only 2 days before charge. but without 3g, i mean only gsm, i can get 3 days.

guys, my iphone 3GS 16gb battery drain like waterfall .....i charged full at nite then in the morning it turns 50% ...wtf ....

now i already closed my 3G/push notification/fetch data off/ still din really improve the battery life ..i also have updated to 3.1 firmware..

anyway, how long can it last for iphone without surfing/gaming...normal answering calls n sms ...???????????????????

I turned off the numeric Battery meter. And use the visual green colour bar. I became less paranoid of the battery problem. Happier now.

I'm currently using 3Gs, i charged up to 100%, when i woke up after the night. The battery drained down to 7% .
