it is a well accepted fact, that if you are within a relatively weak network coverage, the phone (not just the iPhone) has to "work harder" to amplify the signal.
it is a phone afterall, and doing what it was designed for, in the first place. however there is a tip (conducted by myself and hence has no whatever scientific results to back me up) is to turn off the 3G toggle perpetually. twittering, chatting, e-mailing in general, work pretty decently with EDGE (and even GPRS). only when i need to use safari, the 3G comes up. you will be surprised at the power conservation with this simple maneuver. however, if you procrastinate about being troublesome et cetera, then there is nothing much that can be done i suppose... |

QUOTE(arsenal @ Sep 2 2009, 08:51 PM) I trying now..but i always see white screen...it is sleep mode? how to activate the sleep mode back? iPhone's "sleep" mode is dark.the only time that i could recall a white screen, are the subsequently steps later, of the iPhone going into DFU. the white screen is certainly not normal. if all fails, you might have to restore (and then use the backup) unfortunately |

QUOTE(arsenal @ Sep 2 2009, 09:13 PM) I found this at iphone and it work.. why not? however the USB port on the computer typically provides an unstable flow of current, and hence the longer charge time.Does iPhone appear frozen or stuck? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears. Want to ask. Can we charge through laptop? and there have been some debates previously, as there are known cases, in which dodgy USB ports have fried devices, such as thumbdrives et cetera This post has been edited by nokia2003: Sep 2 2009, 09:25 PM |

QUOTE(0806A68032 @ Oct 26 2009, 11:29 PM) hey all, i currently just got my new iphone 3gs 3.0 from maxis (unlocked). few days before i ran iphone without inserting a sim card, and everything was just fine (with push, notifications, alot of wifi usage, youtube and games), the battery last few days. till yesterday, i inserted a digi sim card as im gonna use it for permanent, the battery started to drain really badly and the phone was always warm which i could feel with skeleton rubber casing! so i decided to switch off all push, notifications and hardly used wifi, and still iphone battery drains even when the phone is on sleep! its like 10-15% battery gone in 20-30mins plus.. i even notice that when i charge iphone(with sim card) it gets really hot!! upgrade to the latest firmware i.e. OS3.1.2PLEASE SAVE MY IPHONE ANYONE. any suggestions are welcomed and thankful! that solved my heat problem. |

QUOTE(0806A68032 @ Oct 26 2009, 11:59 PM) nokia2003 thanks for ur feedback. but some people got even hotter after upgrading to os 3.1. im really worried, as i dont want to use any unofficial firmware to downgrade it latter if it gets worse. but thank you! i'll see if other give the same suggestions, then i'll try. of course your experience may differ.would restoring it to its factory setup solve it? not using backing up, but as 'new phone' thanks! remember, new updates/firmwares are supposed (observe the word supposed) to fix bugs/problems. you can try to restore it as a new phone first (but i doubt it will do much help) Added on October 27, 2009, 12:03 ammy battery has always been on average, a day. but i do carry along my external battery pack with me This post has been edited by nokia2003: Oct 27 2009, 12:03 AM |
