Went to a few petshop around perai area but cannot find a suitable wheel. All seems too small for a hedgie. Anyone in Penang that have any recommendation where can I get a wheel for rocky?

Added on August 14, 2011, 12:45 amI saw my hedge scratching last night so I gave her bath today with shampoo. But she is still scratching, is it got mite? I tried to check for mite but I don't think i found any.. Btw, is the back of thebskin suppose to be smooth and pink? Cuz mine look bumpy and dirty..

Anyway for potty training, for poop I know place the poop in the litter box to show her where to poo, but how bout pee?lol

I feel my hedgie is lonely/bored. she was running on the wheel then she got bored of it I guess, so she stop and walk around sniff her water bowl, towel, tunnel, toilet roll, and back to her wheels again, like looking for something else to play like that.. sad.gif

If your hedgehog is quilling at the moment (do you find fallen quills in the cage with a ball at the end of the quill?), then that will explain the constant scratching & bumpy skin (those are quills trying to break through).

I don't potty-train my hedgies so I wouldn't know, sorry.

And hedgehog do that all the time. Run run run, freeze, sniff, run, jump off, sniff somemore. xD
It's not because they're bored, it's just how they are.
If you want to provide more 'mental stimulation' for your hedgie, you can bring it out from the cage & let it explore your living room/some hedgie-proof place.
If your hedgie runs under the cupboard, make sure you are able to retrieve it. wink.gif

Ask shukri77. He's from JB & I think he mentioned that he got it from a pet shop in JB. smile.gif
Do research before getting a hedgehog! biggrin.gif

You can actually let the dog & hedgie 'mingle'.
Once your dog gets a nose full of needles, he/she'll know to avoid you hedgie. xD

no, dun do that....
ur dog, unless u train them....they will ignore it wan..
my dog tot it's a ball
bite la, toss around la...
so not a good idea...
it will traumatize the hedgehog n possible injured ur dog in the process

I don't think all dogs are like your dog.
I see a number of videos on Youtube where they get along just fine.
Of course, a hedgie out of the cage should be supervised at all times. smile.gif
I don't like the idea of hedgehogs living in their cage for all their life.
That's just sad.

all dogs r like my dog
then u train them not to be like my dog
hahaha, u have to train them...else they only see hedgies, gliders, cats, ferrets...all as prey
they will chase n play with it...
