Anyway, a question to elfreakz, when is the right time to neuter Mama after the 31st October birth?
She's given birth twice, don't want her to get pregnant anymore.

I want her to be fat & healthy. wub.gif
Just make sure the kitten can start eating by themself.. meaning, they do not rely 100% on mother milk anymore. Kitten learn to eat and drink at 4 weeks (1 months) old.

Specifically, six to ten weeks after giving birth your cat can be spayed.

A female cat potentially go on heat, a month after labor... so becareful, make sure she is indoor all the time.

Another important thing... you can make your cat fit but not over weight.. fat is not healthy smile.gif

I think the best time to neuter a male cat would be 5 months and above smile.gif
For females it would be 7 months above.

hi elf,
about 3 weeks ago, i changed my cats' dry food to Iams instead of Orijen as Orijen was out of stock in both Pet Lovers Centre and Pet Safari. As my cats have no more food to eat, so i got no time to search in other smaller pet shops around PJ area, so i just grab a big packet of Iams back home.

fortunately, my cats and kitten seem to love Iams more than Orijen, eating non stop. 1 week later, my kitten had soft poo poo (after giving them wet food as a treat before i came back to my hometown) she was ok the next day until now.

i used to control their intake of food (1 full bowl a day and no food at night). during my holidays in my hometown, they stay with my bf. he started to spoil them and feed them(2 cats 1 kitten) approximately 2 bowls of dry food a day and they are still able to 'clean' the bowl.

last night, my eldest cat(maomao) vomited. he suspected it was the dry food but in softer form, brownish color.

my question is, is it the food problem or she just ate too much and couldnt digest? i am worried now. he doesnt have time to bring them to see the vet and i will only be back to selangor after 2 weeks.
any advice given is very much appreciated. thanks in advance!!!

This incident happened to my Felix too last few days when I started using measurement cup. I saw his soft poo outside of his litter which means I gave more than what he intended. Happened twice but now it's fine once I got the right measurement. Cats are greedy animal IMHO as they'll clean up what ever food you gave them eventhough they can't finish it once, they'll come back after a rest, hehe.

P/S: Sorry if I 'eight' on your post as I'm not el. Btw, happy Orijen user here. You might try to ask petknode if they have stock. they'll deliver to your doorstep w/ no charges smile.gif

thanks for your reply, really appreciate it...normally elf was the one who always answers my question, that is why my question was directed to him tongue.gif

yeah, i have told my bf to reduce the food amount given to them. hopefully maomao wont vomit after this. smile.gif

petknode? you bought online? there was a forumer who offered me a big packet of Orijen @ rm135 if not mistaken, but it was a pre order and she couldnt give me an exact date on delivery, thats why i couldnt wait. i have no choice but to wait for them to finish the 9kg iams before i changed back to Orijen again sad.gif

Well, to be exact it's an online order, then they'll confirm w/ you after you placed your order. They do COD which is a way that I'm comfortable with rather than CC with insecurity. Price wise still consider SRP but for the free delivery, i think it's worth for myself. Pleasant service and they gave me some samples from other brands to try out. smile.gif

Hey guys, I adopted two cats I found on the road, last time quite cute and small but now they are all big and strong (and annoyingly playful too) biggrin.gif
Anyway, I wanna find a travel cage that can fit both of them, or at least 1 of them when I bring them to the car, they non stop moving. Any estimate on how much would that travel cage be?

Anyway here are some of my cat picx..

based on logic & common sense alone, do not bath the cat if it is sick.

Looks like normal lonely kitten behavior to me.
You need another kitten, problem will solve itself.

1st of all, TLC is what you must provide at all times. 2nd, I'm not really encourage ppl adopt kittens less than 4 months old unless you adopted 2, it'll be more suffer if he still doesn't know how to eat kibbles. 3rd, always give premium cat food or above like Iams, RC, Science Plan, Blackwood etc. 4th, Take your kitten to the vet for vaccination and check up ASAP, you can get a lot of answers from the vet. Last but not least, Having a pet is a responsible, please spay if you care about them. Sorry for telling you a lot but after I saw a dead stray cat near my house today w/ a crushed broken head, I really can't stand why ppl abandoned their pets as if nothing happens.

some mother cat act this way... they feel the location of labor is not suitable for the kitten. so when she push the kitten out, she also need to find better place... she is very busy, kittens are out, place is need, need to clean the kitten, need to feed, need to clean herself.

if you have cage, its better to cage the mother with the kitten.

if the mother is running away from the kitten or freak out... then you need to get a cloth or towel that u did not used anymore.. and wipe the kitten off till dry. they will scream out loud for milk, i hope mother is there to feed them...

put mother n kittens in a place that is secure.. like room, box, cage... dont let people in the house making loud noise... cat will alwasy be cat (busy body eheheh)

unfortunately we try that and the mother doesn't even want to feed the baby...we try multiple way but rather than feeding her baby, she feed other baby

(there are other newborn baby that born 2 weeks ago)
