Mostly it happens when I take him out of cage and pet/groom him. At 1st he'll purr like usual, but later a while he'll start to scratch or bite my hand like I'm playing with him. When I'm doing the scruffing, he seems unhappy and the process will continue until I put him back to cage. sad.gif

is a he??? i did rescue a male kitten last month. he will scratch and give me lovely bite whenever i touch his stomach. i guess this is male cat/kitten behaviour. or maybe he is just playing with you and of course he doesnt know that will cause some pain to you. just stop playing with him when he tries to scratch you or say, 'hey!' or 'OUCH!!!' (loudly). this is what i did to my cats. tongue.gif

Dear forumers,

I really wish you guys could help me with this as Felix is really into biting which is hard to interact between us. I'm doing the scruffing technique atm but he'll bite or scratch me back after I release my hand.  sad.gif  Last time he likes when I cuddle or groom him but now he's somewhat offensive against me. Please help as I'm still learning to love my Felix and thanks for reading.

this related to genetic.. some cat born with this bad behavior..depends on how they bites.

all kittens love to play bite.. one tip, if they bite u, don't pull your hand and don't shout.

if u pull your hand = this means u giving reaction towards their catch.. like they catch mouse, mouse run away. they will keep on bite your hand. so if they bite, stay calm.. and another hand try to pull him away... dont give any shock respond.

shock respond = fun for them.

as for scratch = clip their nails then.

one of my cat love bite.. when she bite, she lick it, then bite again... then she stop and seat on my hand. = this action relate to how they catch their prey.. such as mice... they catch mice, bite, lick, and keep. they don't really eat that mice if they are house cats.

like i mention just now "genetics"

there are cats that born with extra bad behavior which always come from a feral cats background.

there are cats come from a background that is freak out with human...

cats are sensitive, they know when u r angry, mad, sick, happy, etc.

and some won't bother about what u r suffer from their behavior.

there are cats that listen to what we said, afraid when we say ouch or makes high voice, some fight back.

some cats end up scare with owner if u punch, kick, slap, loud voice when they hurt u.. u end up breaking the friendship.

again, cats are sensitive & choosy. each cats has different behavior, if u r lucky u will get a good one...

yes true, thats mean u have a cat that listen and understand.

if u see something weird happening like the cat suddenly trying to avoid u, stop doing the things that make him run away. else u might turn out having a cat that scare with u.

I see. Will take note on you guys' experience smile.gif. Actually there's one thing happen today while I'm working. As I'm eating my lunch, both of my hands started to get really itchy till I need to scratch hard. I went to put on the Dettol cream later as my hands got those itchy spots appeared. I'm not sure if I was allergic to the food I ate or was the bites that cause it. I think I need to be cautious next time when I play with Felix. ohmy.gif

Oh yea, here are some Felix's latest pics, he got a a new hair cut on his last vet visit. He gain some weight too smile.gif

Felix is a mix Persian or DLH. His fur was not equally long that's why I decided to make it look nice. smile.gif
You can check on his last pic on post 174. At 1st I also thought he wanted to play with me, but now he just bite me when he got a chance rclxub.gif I'll try to be careful these days. Hope it's his "gigi gatal" symptom only.

I do cage him since day 1 as don't want to have any unforeseen accident happen while I'm not at home. I let him out and roam a while when I'm at home to let him get to know my stuff slowly without destroying it sweat.gif Will consider to let him stay without cage when he's old or mature enough.
