Hi,
I saw some ppl that have FAT cat(Like a balloon, super round), i wondering are those cat due to :

1. DIET is too GOOD. Lack of excersice?

2. Genatic/breed?

3. Owner is purposefully feeding high fat food to the cat such fat?

4. Eat too much chicken skin.

hehe are you sure the cat is fat? or just fluffy fur ehehe..

anyway NO to chicken skin.. u end up making your cat suffer from the fat thinggy... shorter life span..

lack of exercise will also end up with extra fat and laziness.

i agree with pumpkinn , part of it, is due to genetic... not to say fat genetic, but bigger body size structure.

if you want healthy kitten, start from taking care the mother while pregnant... feeding a pregnant mother cat will ensure you have healthy kitten... so it start from mother smile.gif

O i see. i saw some video of cat in youtube, those is really round.

Bro/sis,
Can anyone tell me which vet is recommended in PJ/Damansara area to cure cat's skin problem? My cat got skin infection. I had bring my cat to Damansara Height Vet (forgot the name) and the vet can't even know what type of infection. They said is not ringworm. They just give me the cream to apply on the skin. But until now already 2 months, still no improvement. That's why i need ur guys recommend me the reliable vet. Thanks.

p/s: elf/cutiepie, until today i haven solve my cat's skin problem... is quite sometime already... i think the cream not work to my cat lal...  cry.gif

You can try Heshmael's Clinic at Dataran sunway, Sunway damansara. You can ring first : 03 -6156 2478. The vet is very good in cat.

You may also watchful of the diet you feed your cat, maybe you do some study on the diet and also visit vet to ask about it. Supplement fish oil will also a good practise for your cat's coat n skin, especially the one made from 100% salmon oil smile.gif

Hehehe.. TQ.. He is not long hair. Only the tail look like racoon. The vet who treat him also admit Bobo is having unbalance food digestion as n human obesity summore. Worsen he demand for RC only even the gf I have changed to AIMS. Later I snap more photo of Bobo ok!

RC is not a good food, you may also like pumpkim swicth to orijen, or evo another good choise in dry food, if got budget even better get grain free canned food. The best still is raw feeding. smile.gif

QUOTE(pumpkinn @ Aug 16 2009, 12:24 PM)
actually i find RC not bad. but my maomao seems not to like it so much as she takes 4 months just to finish 4kg.  doh.gif

after i brought a kitten back home, i found it will be troublesome for me to buy both adult cat and kitten dry food, so EL suggested me to get them orijen as it is suitable for both adult cat and kitten. they love orijen so much, finished up 12kg in 4 months ( i used to rescue a kitten who ate a lot last month, he been staying with me for 1 week). to be more accurate, both of them still eat more than 10kg in 4 months. so maomao consumed 5.++kg of dry food in 4 months time, which is much more than RC.  thumbup.gif

a pet shop owner in sunway did gave me a sample pack of evo, but my babies didnt like it. sad.gif i wonder why.....
*
Good to hear your kitten is whacking the orijen. I know lot of cat wont resist RC, and the'r added mineral really make the poo smell FANTASTIC. Those filler in RC just not worth at all to purchase RM89 to get a 4kg dry food. Evo is great dry food, it maybe the sample not fresh or small amount of cat will not respond that fast to eat evo then rc IF you been feeding RC. If you leave it they, they will eat for sure. Do you give some canned food once a while to enlighten their live? laugh.gif

I see. Will take note on you guys' experience smile.gif. Actually there's one thing happen today while I'm working. As I'm eating my lunch, both of my hands started to get really itchy till I need to scratch hard. I went to put on the Dettol cream later as my hands got those itchy spots appeared. I'm not sure if I was allergic to the food I ate or was the bites that cause it. I think I need to be cautious next time when I play with Felix. ohmy.gif

Oh yea, here are some Felix's latest pics, he got a a new hair cut on his last vet visit. He gain some weight too smile.gif

Mostly it happens when I take him out of cage and pet/groom him. At 1st he'll purr like usual, but later a while he'll start to scratch or bite my hand like I'm playing with him. When I'm doing the scruffing, he seems unhappy and the process will continue until I put him back to cage.  sad.gif

I see. He really think your hand is the toy! You cage him always?

Think over and over like 100 times if you're going to Sea Park Vet, they offer cheap price, I should be suspicious... *feels guilty*

My female Riko went to spay there and got infected quite badly, pus all over, went to Sri Petaling See Vet and he express terrible condition on the surgery spot, I knew it wasn't that neat.

Vet See had to re open the wound and clean the inside with liquids, infected all the way inside to the muscle layer and probably internal. She had to stay over for 3 days spending more than RM 180 for the cleaning. I just took her back home, I have to clean the wound, change the gauze, by myself 2 times a day for a week, still open wound but got smaller than first time Vet See opened. Eating 3 small pieces of tablets 2 times a day.

Few reason cat vomit. Cat do vomit once a while to clear up hairball, vomit when eating too fast on the kibble, vomit bcos eating forieng objest n etc.

Do you see any fur matt/ball in the vomit?

u tink shud i go to see vet or no need?
wait n see 1st?
i juz gave sliced meat that bought from tesco..i put nothing together with it..
juz that meat..
*
what i mean is what kind of meat you give to your cat? eg. Chicken, lamb, beef, etc? Some cat when first introduce to raw may have diarrhea, some won't and some will allergy to certain meat, like beef, or other then meat, egg. smile.gif

When you thinking should you or you shouldnot you visit a vet, that is the time - You Should. However, diarrhea can occur in many ways just like what Elfreak hv mention. Is your cat still eating, running around and playing normally?

i'm not really sure either firm or watery soft..
its a bit watery maybe..

i tink ur rite..i feed them cold from fridge..huhuhu..
so wut shud i do now?
*
The importing is to make sure the diarrhea is not from any sickness that mention from elfreak. If bcos of feeding cold from the fridge, its maybe, however if your meat is cold, you cat wont eat until it become room temperature. You can feed bones as well if your cat already an adult cat, if kitten you can ground the bone and feed them. The bone will firm up the poo and it need to be about 10% is bone in your raw feeding + 10%-15% of organ, the rest is muscle meat. You can wait till the dirrhea go before you attend to feed him raw again just to make you feel save for your cat. You can start with chicken meat first, just a few chunk of bite size chicken breast will always be the good start, and warm the meat abit by putting in on plate, boil a small pot of water, turn off the gas, put the plate on the of the pot, let them steam heat the plate for about 2-3 mins, then serve your cat, the temperature of the meat and the aroma of the raw meat will make your cat get even interested to eat the meat. From there you develop to putting move variety of meat like beef, lamb, quail, even buffalo if you can get. Your final result should be seeing a firm, dark brown poo, very tolerateble odor/odorless poo, energytic cat and lots of pee on your litter box(triple or fourth times more pee then you feeding kibble).
Lastly, research on raw feeding will always a good help for you and your cat. smile.gif

TQ elfreakz.. guessed that i'll have to visit the petshop again tonight for the Royal Canin Kitten.. yupp, only 1 kitten, a tin of tuna (RM3.90) i bet would last for a couple of week  whistling.gif  If a RM20 Royal Canin (400 grams) would last say 3 weeks, than its OK lah.. not that burden  rolleyes.gif

Wah.. WET FOOD SEEKER.. that scares me..  sweat.gif  later on can give such troubles too.. hehe

I just read about Whiskas, Frieskies, Smartheart - which reportedly caused (some) cats experiencing heart attacks, kidney stones, back/heap pain.. wah.. kinda takut that one too..  shocking.gif  guessed that i'll seek out the best food for her so that she'll stay healthy!~  thumbup.gif

Later I would post out Gaga's pictures!~  biggrin.gif

Thanks!
*
Do not use Whiskas, Frieskies, Smartheart or brand that you can easily get in supermarket like giant and carefour, those is not mean to be eaten by cat.

Since you welling to spend some money on canned food, get the canned food instead, like Natural Balance, Evo, or even addiction will be good choice. If you can paid for Royal Canin, then use that money to pay for Orijen or Evo.

Hi.

Have anyone ever tried TopCat cat food from Guabi, Brazil company..?
Anyway it recognized by HACCP certified by the Ministry of Agriculture
of Brazil and the company has partnerships with universities like Unesp
Jaboticabal, research centers and farms, aiming the development and
evaluation of new products.

p/s: thinking to change from Iams kitten food since the price was
too pricey.  hmm.gif

RM75  =10.1kg TopCat Premium Food
RM130=9kg Iams

*
RM75 = 10kg shakehead.gif shakehead.gif Don buy la, is worst then you feed Iams to your cat. You can get Royal Canin, Evo, Wellness, or even addiction. Your cat will thank you la.
