On front page of this thread there is a Dead Pixel Tester. Other than this time consuming and using my poor eyes to scan the huge 22" LCD for the 5,292,000 minuscule pixels, what other alternatives do I have? I'm going to get 4 more eye-balls to help me. Was thinking of getting a Dell with a Premium Panel Limited Guarantee.

So i guess the best would be the old eyes method for you.

I believe that's exactly right. Cutting lcd panels of 1920x1080 means you get more lcd panels than you would if you cut them at 1920x1200 panels.

It is about physical hardware problem, software cannot detect it. Even you have lot of dead pixel, you printscreen the page, you won't able to see the dead pixel. Your GC send the signal to the screen, then the lcd screen response to the signal, there is no feedback loop from the screen pixel by pixel to verify the pixel is act according to the signal unless lcd manufacturers install the loop feedback mechanism in it, which I don't see there is a need for it as it just mean more costly only which defy the price competition on lcd industry and put the manufacturer in disadvantage situation.
