Still considering whether to offload my 2408 to change to U2410. If only they got 27 inch version that it can be considered as an upgrade. 24" change to 24" kinda weird.

Changing from 2408wfp to U2410 (which sounds like a German submarine btw)

Upgrade= you get rid of about 30ms worth of input lag
+
Downgrade=loss of inputs/outputs
=
sidegrade

But if you get the U2410 in addition to your 2408wfp you get matching dual view monitor display (apart from the stands). Now that's gotta be cool.

to find anything between the price point of TN and IPS panels. VA/P-VA would fit in between but its so hard to actually find one here. Not many manufacturers produce them too.

I still can't justify the cost of getting an IPS panel since I'm not using it for professional work.

Actually, if you consider that IPS panels are superior to VA panels, then getting the U2410 at the same price as the 2408wfp which i got at about the same price a few months ago would be considered a bargain.

And i use it primarily for gaming - pc and consoles just because of the superior input options.

Yeah dirt cheap in Malaysia in Australia is RRP AUD899, can get 10% off so total around AUD 810. Still expensive.
Damn hope the price hold till christmas when i'm back then bring it to aussie next year.
This thing would look nice too for my new ps3 slim next year. rclxms.gif
Worried abt the input lag now ......
cnet australia did the input lag test, any comments? is it good enough for FPS games?

From the results in game mode, that is really really really low input lag. Even with my current high latency monitor which is supposed to average about 30ms, i don't notice the lag with my FPS games.

Between AOC 2434PW, Viewsonic VX2433WM and Acer H233H, which has the best price/performance?

Cheapest of the bunch = Acer H233H.
Glossy screen, so this may or may not be a deal breaker for you. If you are putting the monitor with lots of lights, the reflection may bother the heck out of you. Performance wise, this monitor is decent, good black levels and the glossy screen does make colors more vibrant. However this is especially bad if you're doing a little bit of photoshopping.

I personally went for the Viewsonic VX2433WM and it is slightly more expensive than the H233H. But the matte screen was what made me chose it. I just couldn't take the reflection from the Acer. As you can expect from Viewsonic, nice and rather accuarate (for a TN panel you don't expect high of a color gamut) colors.

According to most owners of the AOC 2434PW, it is pretty impressive on its own. It is on the same price as the Viewsonic though, I didn't get a chance to look at it so other owners can shed some light on this one.

But if anything, I'd suggest the Viewsonic VX2433WM among all else. The backlight bleed is so much lesser than the Acer.

I will wish and wait and see if the price of the U2410 drops in the next few months then.

The older 2408wfp is using VA or IPS panel?

Better specs in regards to only a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
If you like DCR, this may be the one to go for. If you're like me who couldn't care less about DCR either ways.... well, I guess its fine if you go either AOC or Viewsonic.

If I'm not mistaken, Viewsonic 2433 require to choose the input on everytim you switch on your monitor.

Fyonne: could i ask for your kind courtesy to post the remaining pictures? i went to Dell Direct retail shop but they don't have demo, would really like to have a look at the stand before deciding to let go my 2408.

The's a review up and the picture not really clear showing the whole panel with the stand
