QUOTE(SSJBen @ Aug 28 2009, 08:20 PM) Cheapest of the bunch = Acer H233H. thank you for the comment Glossy screen, so this may or may not be a deal breaker for you. If you are putting the monitor with lots of lights, the reflection may bother the heck out of you. Performance wise, this monitor is decent, good black levels and the glossy screen does make colors more vibrant. However this is especially bad if you're doing a little bit of photoshopping. I personally went for the Viewsonic VX2433WM and it is slightly more expensive than the H233H. But the matte screen was what made me chose it. I just couldn't take the reflection from the Acer. As you can expect from Viewsonic, nice and rather accuarate (for a TN panel you don't expect high of a color gamut) colors. According to most owners of the AOC 2434PW, it is pretty impressive on its own. It is on the same price as the Viewsonic though, I didn't get a chance to look at it so other owners can shed some light on this one. But if anything, I'd suggest the Viewsonic VX2433WM among all else. The backlight bleed is so much lesser than the Acer. for now Viewsonic is still cheaper than AOC by RM10, but AOC seems to have better specs. any AOC users want to give some opinions? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Aug 28 2009, 10:30 PM) Better specs in regards to only a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. yup, looking at that DCR and also the adjustable heightIf you like DCR, this may be the one to go for. If you're like me who couldn't care less about DCR either ways.... well, I guess its fine if you go either AOC or Viewsonic. but read that some users complaining about the brightness of the LCD |

From the comments of those forums, seems like AOC 2434PW has lots of problems. Should I opt for Viewsonic at that price point instead?

AOC seems to have lots of problems, need clarification from users here Viewsonic, not sure if it is good, only 20K DCR and 5ms compared to AOC's thanks |

QUOTE(munak991 @ Sep 5 2009, 02:02 PM) as long as it looks greatafaik DVI and HDMI are the same, just that HDMI has audio support which i do not need looking for at least 23" with at least 5ms response time (AOC has 2ms but seems like it was overdriven and caused some discoloring issue) and 1000:1 static CR. is DCR important? i read that AOC has 60K DCR while Viewsonic has only 20K. and also, brightness of at least 300cd? QUOTE(Dreamworks @ Sep 6 2009, 12:48 AM) If I am not mistaken, someone did mention before that AOC Angelo 2434Pw, Samsung 2494HS, and ViewSonic VX2433wm share the SAME film/panel, which is M236H1-L01 by Chi Mei. You can do a search on TFT Central if you want. provenSo what's the deal here? Because AOC is a not so famous brand then the picture quality is inferior? Anyway, I own a 2434Pw and so far so good. My only complain is the lack of a DVI port and relatively slow start up time (The point where I "touch" the power button to the point where an image shows up, my Dell is faster). http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/panelsearch.htm but does ur LCD show any discoloration problem as shown by another forummer here few pages back? how about the overbrightness issue? |

A search on that Chi Mei panel shows that the panel supports 5ms response time, but several LCDs including AOC claim that they have 2ms response time. how is this possible?

QUOTE(Dreamworks @ Sep 6 2009, 01:28 AM) 2ms is GTG (grey-to-grey), GTG is generally faster than the typical measurement of black-to-white or white-to-black transition. So I guess the typical response time is 5ms lo, I'm really not an expert in this matter thanks for the explanation. i assume u are saying that the 2ms thingy is just a marketing gimmickany users have any comment on AOC 2436VW? since 2434PW is out of stock and 2436VW is cheaper (with 5ms response time and without DVI), i might consider getting this |

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Sep 6 2009, 05:43 AM) Exactly the reason I gave up looking for AOC Angelo. The stock availability is very low. I asked a few sellers and all gave the same answer. i will still wait, while looking for better alternatives at the same time Some even said the price will be up in the next batch. So that got me thinking to consider a more branded LCD. About the response time, it might be negligible to the naked eye. But I read Samsung P2350 review and the 2ms really makes a difference. QUOTE(toottut89 @ Sep 6 2009, 06:54 AM) it has good reviews on the net. it shares the same panel as AOC Angelobut a site mentioned that it has some uneven color display issue |

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Sep 6 2009, 11:36 AM) cyew86, the specs i supposed? but i am looking at other LCDs as well, e.g. Acer H233H. how much is P2350 currently selling?Any other reason despite the Angelo being priced under RM700 that makes you want to wait for it? It did win the Reddot award but I think that's just because of the design. Have you looked into Samsung P2350? I'm seriously considering it. I'm planning to get new LCD within this coming week. |

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Sep 6 2009, 11:58 AM) Yup, a seller approached me and recommended Acer HS233H also. It's cheaper than the options I have now. But I don't fancy Acer. bit expensive for a 23" and no HDMIFrom viewnet's pricelist the P2350 is going for RM739. The price is almost firm. But I'll look around LYP this coming Tuesday hopefully. Here are some reviews for the P2350: http://www.techenclave.com/reviews-and-pre...tor-141832.html http://www.ccereviews.com/reviews/samsung-...50-lcd-monitor/ http://wakuwakusuru.zeroclipse.net/2009/06...50-lcd-monitor/ but will consider about it nonetheless QUOTE(our_team89 @ Sep 6 2009, 01:29 PM) any model to recommend? below rm700 and 23/24" |
