just got myself a samsung P2350, awesome design, make me feel like i own a samsung LED TV ... tongue.gif

I got this monitor too. But somehow, my older 932B+ seems to be superior in colour quality.
The viewing angle from up and bottom (vertical) viewing angle is quite bad or is it just the newer monitors cuz my older 932B+ is much better in terms in vertical viewing angle.

The next closest thing to the 2433BW is the 2333SW. Wonder if anyone is selling the 2433BW at Garage Sales.

Hey guys, just want to know what are among the good monitors in the 23-24" size range which has HDMI+DVI input or dual DVI inputs?

As far as I know, the Samsung T240 has HDMI input but its kinda pricey. Not sure whether its worth the money unless the IQ is really good.

The other one that I'm considering would be the LG W2361V-PF. I think it uses LG panel. The Samsung 2494HS uses CMO not Samsung panels. And apparently, Samsung does some panel switching thing where they hide the type of panel used in their monitors.

I think my current Samsung P2350 has some other panel which is not Samsung because, somehow... it looks like my older 932B+ monitor has better IQ than my P2350.

On my P2350, I can see flickering on some sites with black background with some pattern. http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php

And even the contrast isn't that good.
From this site http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/contrast.php the colour in 1 appears all black to me.

Does the LG W2453T-PF have HDMI input?
There is a person selling the W2361V-PF here http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1128919&hl= at quite a decent price but too bad it only comes in glossy. I asked him but he doesn't carry the matte version T_T

IMO, the quality of Samsung monitors doesn't seem to be as good compared to last time?

Yeah. Glossy means the screen is reflective.

Are you using DVI or VGA connection. Try using DVI for best results.

Any good S-PVA or P-MVA to recommend? Most TN panels nowadays are crappy and the fact that the latest Samsung monitors don't use Samsung panels makes it even worse.

The LG L245WPM seems like a good one though its kinda old. Don't know if can find it anymore.. It even has HDMI input.

Some say the quality of picture on Samsung p2450H is not good via HDMI as oppossed to DVI.. can someone verify this??

see the comments on  the link below:-

http://www.hardwarezone.com/ourvoice/blog/...-For-The-Season

Btw has anyone else seen it on the market??

If the HDMI input is only optimized for video then it does not really matter to me since I will be using the DVI input for my PC anways and HDMI for my PS3.
This monitor is still new and I can't find any reviews of it yet. Haha if this turns out to be good, I might considering replacing my P2350 with this. Design looks similar to the T240.

Oh, and Samsung should really tell us what panels they use in their monitors instead of hiding them. Don't wanna pay so much just for some lousy Chi Mei panel.

QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Aug 27 2009, 04:47 PM)
Oh! i didn't realise that they had finally replaced 2408wfp.  (Which is a shame because i wanted to get a matching one for looks if the price dropped any lower)

Noticed that the panel type was IPS, which means that it should not suffer from the input lag you get from VA panels.

I also noticed that it doesn't have stereo out in the specs for people planning to plug hdmi connectors into the monitor.

If the picture quality is as good as (or better than) the 2408wfp, then grats! on a great buy!
*
IPS panels are expensive cry.gif
Its hard to find anything between the price point of TN and IPS panels. VA/P-VA would fit in between but its so hard to actually find one here. Not many manufacturers produce them too.

I still can't justify the cost of getting an IPS panel since I'm not using it for professional work.

Changing from 2408wfp to U2410 (which sounds like a German submarine btw)

Upgrade= you get rid of about 30ms worth of input lag
+
Downgrade=loss of inputs/outputs
=
sidegrade

But if you get the U2410 in addition to your 2408wfp you get matching dual view monitor display (apart from the stands). Now that's gotta be cool.
Actually, if you consider that IPS panels are superior to VA panels, then getting the U2410 at the same price as the 2408wfp which i got at about the same price a few months ago would be considered a bargain.

And i use it primarily for gaming - pc and consoles just because of the superior input options.
*
I will wish and wait and see if the price of the U2410 drops in the next few months then.

The older 2408wfp is using VA or IPS panel?

doing alot of research..it has a good image quality..
but the screen is glossy. that one very distracting  doh.gif
no matte for this model.
but is always ur choice  wink.gif

LG produces a matte version and glossy version for the w2361. Maybe the shop which sells it doesn't carry the matte version.

If not a graphic designer, IPS panel was not really suitable  rolleyes.gif

Well, IPS is good for photo editing since colour accuracy is important too or serious gaming laugh.gif

Its just that, its hard to find any good TN panels theses days. Hopefully the price of IPS panels will come down soon.
Actually, Dell's pricing is quite reasonable compared to other IPS panels since the other alternatives like the one from HP costs around RM2k-3k?

Have you calibrated the settings yet? I am using the P2350 and don't find it to have brightness problem.
