guys,

would like to ask for your opinion on rotating tyre after using.

Usually rotating tyre are recommended to do straight swap (| |) or cross swap (X)

Your inputs are much appreciated.

Thx.

Depends on the tyre whether directional or not

there is no cross swap... but the front can cross to the rear but rear tires straight go to the front..
just bring o the tire shop if they are professional enough they will do it for you automatically no words asked...

Not too sure about your comment.

What I noticed was front tyre will consume more to the side. So over several months on daily driving I swap straight with my rear unit.
I repeat this after few months and now I rotate again the first time front tyre back to front. I can hear very noisy sound when I cruise at 60KM/H or higher.

This is due to the tyre thread? FYI, I am using Yokohama S-Drive

S Drive is directional lo... smile.gif it got sign at the side wall mention Rotate Direction or something like that with an arrow sign...
it might cause by uneven wear on the tire and also the tire itself as directional tires is not meant to be quiet... smile.gif

I see..thanks for the tips.

As you suggested in earlier reply, by crossing the front tyre to rear use could probably solve the noisy sound?

the sound is like "wuunnng.........". Really hope can do something to it

After using my stock tires over 45000+ km, finally I changed to Falken 912, just now "tested" its performance at wet road from sunway to cheras...I would say it is lots lots better.. thumbup.gif

by the way, I changed at Tek Ming Sunway, RM135 per pcs (include balancing only, aligment cost rm20), after trade in old tires. Note:185/60/14

Parada good???? haha i think u prefer comfort with performance... Parada is nothing compare to RSR and R1R la... but u must buy tires by priority, grip in dry and wet??? then comfort or handling??? and do you hate noisy tires... then u only u filter the tire that you want...
if you are using Parada then i think you are on 195/50 R15...
*
Parada quite good for daily usage biggrin.gif 595 RS-R is not as good as FTZ RR, so now i still looking for FTZ RR, since i travel only 20KM per day and 9am go out and back 9pm, the surface temperature can give me 12000KM for FTZ RR brows.gif ( slowly drive nia la laugh.gif )
So far I love R1R the most, foe me, it's one of the best street tires i can put on my car biggrin.gif

Semi slicks is good for short distance driving as it drains very fast, but still, my next tire is FTZ RR front and R1R at the back biggrin.gif

good price... but remember to check ur tire pressure weekly or bi-weekly... to prevent outer shoulder's thread wear rate

depends on car la bro... try Manufacturing Recommended pressure then see how it goes... if too soft add more pressure...
that is a very individual preference question ... smile.gif

Wah RE001 strong supporter...

i never use before but have challenge/ sprint drive with another car that fitted RE001 from japan...
that time i was using chop shop tire yokohama DNA, both our car is same just running different tire and the RE001 have fitted alot of bars .. mine none ...

we push and push also got challenge a RX8 to the peak of genting... we are bumper to bumper from bottom of the hill to peak of the hill ... as u say RE001 so good but still unable to pull away... from chop shop tire... RE001 just so so ...
*
im not RE001 supporter....im yokohama tires fans...!

as i mention...IF ad07/08 not here

ad07 out of production....

ad08 different categories...!

the yokohama DNA u mean shud be S.drive...very hot tire at japan b4 this!

but u canot judge the tires performance because u "tiong" the RX-8
maybe he dun have the skill / u r too skillfull...!

and i shud also mention....im discussing Street Tires...not those track car tire/slick tires/extreme performance tires

remember read i article few year back and they are comparing Street tires at Macau Track day

ranking

1)BS re001(more lasting than AD07) , AD07(better grip than re001)
both rank no. 1

2)michelin PS2

3)Dunlop DZ101

4)Falken 452

I agree with you.

I hate to say but mentioned it many times before. To accurately test a tire, it is best to fit on a same car with same setting and put it on a skidpad. Push it around the corner especially slalom test, it shows difference.

Different cars with different tyres, somemore different drivers..what kind of test is it? Chapalang test? crap..
Street racing ..omg. Go to a skidpad that wide enough, push it hard and smoke the wheel, burn donuts...leave skid marks on the ground...

well RE001 is good... but in dry not wet for us normal road user we should get a balance one...
so for me still RE-001 is not up to expectation for a UHP tire as test results shows that overall result it cannot beat even Michelin PE2 (PP2 same pattern but different region)... test result at Tirerack.com go and see urself...

Very good question! Just find a place that is wide enough provided the road is Tarmac...not gravel. If it is gravel, the tyre sure gone..rubber cut and tear off badly. Just push it harder and go sideway.. brows.gif This is how to try what's the limit... blush.gif

Test benchmark? Slalom test is a good standard. Of course let's say before that the car is with 205/50/16 hp tyre, upgrade it to Same size but UHP category, don't expect cornering speed improved by 20-30kmh..this is bullshit if anyone tell me this..most likely can bring more speed into apex, corner by ~5%

I am from Northern region..i bring my ride to industrial park there with 4lanes wide open road with no centre divider/pavement, just in case lost control...oops unsure.gif weekend barely any vehicle pass by because factory no operate on weekend. Just an advice, it is illegal to do it at public road, be sure not to get busted by cops.

Lewis hamilton has been busted by Australia cops because of performing donuts burnout action at public road..LoL. laugh.gif

sorry if my posting is offensive...

haha... yea... but if you upgrade from NCT5 185/55 R15 at old Vios to new 195/55 R15 PS3 u will felt a lot better in corners and in wet... i can say in wet u can do better lines and also accelerate much more faster out of the corners...

but again don wack me for this... try it urself, if all the tires is the same then what 4 to have different category??? is that a gimmick from Manufacturer???

I would either stick back to 185/55/15 or downsize to smaller, lower profile 195/50/15 to feel more planted during high speed drool.gif

Vios stock rim is 15*5.5 right?

yes still can use 195 tires but some will look a bit bulging... some ok...195/50 R15 looks nicer but i prefer to have a lil comfort so i go for 195/55
