anything that elevates ur heart rate is cardio exercise ler sleep.gif

this includes bedroom olympics

oh yeah. I have one and I think it's very useful. When I am doing cardio, I try to stay within the heart rate zone i.e. 65-80% in longer duration. During this heart beat, the cardio is named as aerobic exercise..

Anything above that will be called anerobic exercise. It will still burn fat but not as effective as when you are staying within the burn fat zone.

NO...i didnt wear it during bedroom Olympic. I always get Gold Medal.... drool.gif

you're quite there smile.gif

anaerobic exercise, if done intensive enough, will burn approx 2x the amount of fat compared to aerobic exercise of same duration - afterwards

if you dont believe me, try a good hiit program and you'll be sweating for hours afterwards.

You reminded me something!

No wonder everytime I balik after Taekwondo training, still feel the body heaty and hard to sleep (still feel very hyperactive) until 3 hours after training. Elliptical session can never do this.

So, this is called burning fats? laugh.gif

It's because of the raise heartbeat during the session that carries on after you complete the session. It usually happens when you've had a solid workout with your entire body. Why the elliptical machine doesn't do that, is because you're not exactly using your whole body. Yes you're sweating, but only your legs, hips are moving. Also the resistance is extremely low.
So....well, it cools off after a short while.

Anyway, i just watched "The Biggest Loser" show. The trainer said that, if we keep on doing cardio , it would only build our cardio but not muscles .

Is that true? hmm.gif

So, we opt to go to the gym and doing cardio in interval?

RICH - dont get confuse.....just get cardio-ed........ As you run more and read more, you will understand the science part of cardio and fat loss.

You can do interval training in the jogging path...run fast, run slow, ....repeat......pussh-up an start jump ....and then run again......

So, 2 key lessons about cardio :

Lesson 1

Include some anaerobic exercise in between aerobic for fat loss. Evidence : HIIT. It's the transition from one cardio type to another that make the body "shake up" and lose fat. The after-effect is important, not the anaerobic exercise by itself and also not the aerobic exercise by itself but the effect of having both together.

Lesson 2

Total body workout is better rather than just focus on certain body parts.

That correct then? For good cardio workout?

That show will make them do a HIIT that is intense to them but not intense to someone fit like the others here.
