RICHard - Dont mean to be evilish but need to be point blank and bring you back down to earth. Jogging aint lowering anyone ego. It boost up one stamina, metabolism, health level, etc......

Let's put on your running shoes and give me 5 laps......

ps: my apology for being marginally sarky.

dude, please share your personal data here, as in your BMI, weight and etc.

Diet wise, please consult WIKI-san smile.gif
I'll see what I can help you from exercise perspective.

It's because, if you are too overweight, jogging hurts.

If you have the ego, don't f***ing care about getting a friend.
Do it alone, and show your friends around that you can do it all by yourself!

I myself workout alone since 1 year ago, later on some friends who wanna keep fit come and join me, and all of them left because cannot tahan. And today, I am still doing workout myself.

I shift my gym time from after work to lunch hour, so that I can be the only one in gym, it's even easier for me to do all kind of stunts I wanted. I can half way jogging suddenly change to rowing, then suddenly change to cycling and etc. whistling.gif

The gardenia wholemeal bread is causing burping because it's a change in diet. When changing from a lifetime of refined carbo to complex carbo, the stomach is still trying to adjust itself to getting used to it. Hence the burping.

Body Fat : I'm not bothered about this so much. I rather look at a mirror and just my weight and inches. Too many things to jaga and more demoralizing later if things don't turn out well. And the biggest source of fat is the brain. How to remove fat from the brain? Aiyo....

Added on April 10, 2009, 7:37 pmrichard : start by walking. then increase the distance. once your heart is more steady, start jogging. if cannot jog far, it's ok. jog - walk - jog - walk.

I'm overweight. VERY OVERWEIGHT. Didn't care what ppl said. Started at 5 min. Then 2 days later 10 min. Increase every other day. Now can do 20-30 min walking. Slowly building up coz of heart problems and I tend to panic when I feel too much palpitations.

On the flipside, clean your house to build up some slight cardio. Then go jogging. I'm serious here.

thanks for the explanation WIKI-san smile.gif

I really care about my fat %, because I exercise to improve my performance. Weight loss is one of my criteria too, as in weight loss in fats only, hahaha.

There was once, I decreased to 70kg. I do look alot thinner. However, my body does not seem to be as responsive as before when I spar with people. After the % fat test, GOSH, my muscle actually shrink sad.gif

Yes, you are absolutely right.
I am coaching a fren who is super overweight too.
The same method applies to him.

1st, make exercise a daily routine. walk 20 minutes per day.

2nd, increase cardiovascular. I asked him to do multiple light punches with slight skipping. Less leg related exercise because he is too heavy for that.

3rd, must let him see results. Don't care about % fat. Weight and waist measurement matters the most to him.

i still think you should measure BF now and later...so that you know that you are burning fat .....not muscle, etc. There is equipment to measure weight, trunk measurement (something gotta with waistline fat), visceral fat, BF, Body age, muscle percentage, ,etc.......go check it out at the pharmacies.....

Wifey alwiz hints on me. "Wanna do cardio, dear" She actually refer to mopping the house dining hall. cry.gif

Body Fat : using those things that measure the electrical signals through the body comes at a risk although the chances of me getting pregnant is pretty slim (pregnant ladies are usually advised not to use those scales i think, saw one wiht a warning once). And they're not exactly that accurate. 2 different systems gave me a body fat of 66% and 44%. Pelik. The caliper is more accurate but can't find it here.

Tengster : Be a man and do it. Earns you brownie points in the long run and how else can you show that you have the great cardio that you built up at the gym?

Trust me when I say that mopping the floor is easier than cleaning the bathroom. When you have to clean every tile gap so that it doesn't get mouldy, well, trust me, it's worst.

Added on April 10, 2009, 8:12 pmcharge-n-go : hope your friend makes it. after a week i felt lighter and better. still get tired out after cooking session or shopping. after 2 weeks, a lot better.

fullest commitment : thanks for the compliment. slowly getting there. i just made sure that the targets are achievable and short. if i see the total i hve to lose, i'd freak. so i just focus 1 kg per week.

i have a calendar that i mark down how much i weigh for that morning.

hmmm... and it was a shock to hear from colleagues who were interesting in weight loss and keeping healthy and how many had high BP or had friends/relatives who had it. So, there were a lot of people out there who really wanted to get healthier.

next week, am starting that 10 min lunch walk (not brisk coz it's just after lunch) and perhaps a short 30 min brisk walk after work with colleagues at the small gym in the office.

myremi: Actually, I am doing it from time to time. I have good experience in mopping floor (nothing to shout about) since college days. Need to mop hell of a large area in angmorh dinning hall to earn some bucks to survive.......no complaint about mopping. it's just part of the housechore I share with wifey......just dont ask me to iron clothes....that will surely up my blood pressure.

Ironing clothes actually made me sweat a lot. Surprisingly, can lose a lot of weight with that activity, strangely. smile.gif

It also teaches you on stress management. >.> I'm serious here. Hee hee!

(But if you were smart, you would have bought an industrial steamer like the departmental stores have. I'm still looking for one. Need to find out where to find it in KL.)

See, where there is a will, there is a way. smile.gif I'm a damn lazy bugger. tongue.gif

bathroom : walls must be clean, no marks on them. toilet bowl white and no brown stains. behind the throne as well. shower head + all taps shining that you can see your face. no hair in any of the drain holes.

mop : cannot feel the dust on your feet at all. totally cannot feel it. also cannot feel the stickiness of soap.

washing clothes : no yellow stains around collar and armpits of white/beige coloured shirts. all stains removed, especially oil stains.
