QUOTE(aladdin @ Jun 1 2009, 08:40 AM) I dont mind AW sells Ade (trouble maker), Denilson (Won't have big improvement in the future), Diaby (piece of $hit). Just bring in Toure/Barry!!! Vieira was a mishap at Milan at the age of 20. We all know how he turned out. Give Denilson some slack. No one expected him to rule England this season, and when he was left out of the team for Song we actually shipped in 4 goals against Chelsea and 3 against MU. At the GROVE somemore...I'm not going to debate about Diaby as we all are disappointed in his lack of effort rather than the lack of skill. The rumours about Barry came from thin air... No quotes whatsoever. Of course, the less said about any potential Arsenal targets the better; but this is simply out of the blue. To be honest, I haven't seen enough of Barry to put down a verdict, but the fact that Villa's relegation form in the final 1/3 of the season may suggest that he probably isn't exactly that influential after all. Or maybe he was already hellbent on leaving and affected his form. QUOTE(Zan81 @ Jun 1 2009, 09:56 AM) I'm not saying Bendtner is the next Henry (not even close!), but judging by his footwork, creativity and ability to hold up the ball, he has the potential to be a very good player within the next two seasons. The thing with Nicky is that he is yet to find his best role. Target man ie no9? Support striker ie no10? Free central role ie Titi14? We've seen him mainly as a target man in his early days/subs appearances, and as a support striker when he was paired with Dudu last season in the CC. Hell he even got far too many time on the wings when he's clearly not a winger. I still believe he has the power, the pace, and the positioning to become our blonde Anelka... Well, maybe not as quick but you get the idea. There can be only one Thierry Henry, and once again apart from Theo there's no one in our team that appears to play like the King. Even for Theo it's far too early to predict. QUOTE(Vinci777 @ Jun 1 2009, 11:53 AM) If Henry's soul possessed Ade then our Togonator would have scored 30 goals and created another 10 every season lol... |

Well if robin have injury trouble and scores 20 goal this season,if he has no injury would you be surprise to see him score like 30+ goal or so?
If it really will help him,i hope he destroy the wisdom tooth instead |

At the GROVE somemore... i'm gonna be honest bro. i think denilson deserves to be given some slack cause he's still young and all that. but i do believe that fabregas needs to be given a way better midfield partner that can help him out. in that respect, i think even song has been inconsistent as well. again, i'm hoping someone with more experience and can command the midfield more can come in straight into the side. this will allow song and denilson to learn more from the two midfield maestros so that they can take over after that. but that's just my view lah.. QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Jun 1 2009, 02:11 PM) The thing with Nicky is that he is yet to find his best role. i agree with you to a certain extent that yes, the big dane has not been able to play in his preferred role much this season, mostly coming in and having to play from the right. also, he hasn't been given that many chances to start a match. however, i still think that he needs to definitely work on his first touch, ball possession and make sure that he delivers this coming season if he wants to stake his claim as a first team player. having said all that, i really like his workrate.. he's one guy who will run his socks off for the team... unlike a certain other striker... =)Target man ie no9? That's somewhat possible. Don't forget how many times he hit the woodwork this season. Had he had a little bit of luck and scored most of those chances we'd be seeing Thierry-Henryeque statistics for Robin now.QUOTE(lostasylum @ Jun 2 2009, 01:38 AM) i'm gonna be honest bro. i think denilson deserves to be given some slack cause he's still young and all that. but i do believe that fabregas needs to be given a way better midfield partner that can help him out. in that respect, i think even song has been inconsistent as well. again, i'm hoping someone with more experience and can command the midfield more can come in straight into the side. this will allow song and denilson to learn more from the two midfield maestros so that they can take over after that. but that's just my view lah.. Of course, it seems that we both share the same view that Song and Denilson have much to improve before being able to rule the midfield. And we agree that someone with experience and ready to go will be welcomed in our midfield. i agree with you to a certain extent that yes, the big dane has not been able to play in his preferred role much this season, mostly coming in and having to play from the right. also, he hasn't been given that many chances to start a match. however, i still think that he needs to definitely work on his first touch, ball possession and make sure that he delivers this coming season if he wants to stake his claim as a first team player. having said all that, i really like his workrate.. he's one guy who will run his socks off for the team... unlike a certain other striker... =) What I'm saying is that Denilson, despite his flaws, has been one of the more important members in this team. Comments such as "he will never improve" are unfair as he has already shown great improvement this season, and does his job admirably... nothing flashy, just sweet and simple. Stats don't show everything about him, but it does say something about his contributions to the team. Nicky, well his first touch does appear to be Adebayor-like at times. But there are also glimpses when it goes to the other end of the spectrum and becomes Titi/Dennis-like. He's probably never going to be first choice next season, but he has always stated his desire to fight for his position and this season he has managed to show that he has the goods. huhuhuh everybody wondering who's coming... who's going.. well i can tell u this, knowing AW, there won't be any announcement until like late july or even late august.
Alonso or Barry? personally, i'd prefer alonso but my gut feeling is that Barry is most likely to come. dunno.... i'll reason with u guys later on this. Thierry Henry didn't just turn into legend. he spent 2 years with us before lighting the EPL on fire. by then, he got Viera, Pires, Bergkamp, Keown, Parlor and the rest to help him. Also, he was about 26 then. So, if you guys wanna compare our current crop with him, at least give them a little room to grow and be mature. i'd say another year for nicky and vela would do wonders to them. Also, i think Walcott will be vital next season and i hope he won't be jaded from all the international duties. patience... and we'll be rewarded. |

If you were to ask me which player wasnt good enough in the team. There is only 1 player that I could think off:
Diaby I know there any many Diaby-Pro out there and how he performed before he get himself injured but seriously, even a non-Arsenal fans can tell that he is not improving. For me, Diaby never gonna near Vieara and I think Song is nearer than Diaby. For somehow I couldnt see Diaby determination on winning the ball back, his sence of shooting, lack of speed. I dunno about u guys. I just feel that he wasnt good enough to be in the team. I believe getting an experience midfield to partner with Fabs and a speedy/versatile CB like Vidic to partner with Toure or Gallas should solve our problems. |

Read, and be enlightened. Or even incensed, maybe
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://www.arsenalvision.co.uk/myvision.php Of course, like I always say; stats don't tell the whole story but they surely carry some weight. For some reason Denilson's stats this season has been absolutely astounding, even though there probably wasn't a single match where he bossed the midfield and outgunned the opponents. If given the option between Alonso and Denilson in our team, the Spaniard's superior passing and vast experience at both club and international level will give him the utmost advantage here. There's little doubt about what Alonso could offer to our team, but my point is again to reiterate how important Denilson has been to us this season. And yeah, Arsene speaks about stats, but probably more as an advertisement gesture QUOTE "The performance insights from the Castrol Index are crucial to me. I only have two eyes so I can follow the ball and see where a player is positioned but I cannot really measure what every single player’s performance is like physically. I don’t need extra help in the form of opinions, because that's not good enough for a manager. As a manager I need something secure to rely on. To be able to measure the real physical performances of the players is very important to me. With these insights from the Castrol Index I can make objective statements and judgements of the performances from all of my players." http://www.castrolfootball.com/experts/ Fire away.
