Look at all my stars!!

QUOTE(Vinci777 @ May 29 2009, 11:07 AM) Iniesta have time to grow with experience players. He played with Deco, Ronaldiho, Eto, Henry, Marquez, Xavi etc etc. If Henry, Viera, Pires is still with us, we probably been better. Now there is no one to lead the team. Everybody is learning from each other. There is no role model for the kids. T.T Arshavin arrival really shows the impact of purchasing an established player. Hope AW will work his wonders again. He did some magic on getting promising young players, now its time to get an experience guy. I agree with you. That why we need to spend. They doesn't come cheap anyway. So prepare. We shouldn't let players like Gilberto and Pires leave. They were important. I feel they can contribute more. Look at Pires, he still have that influence for Villareal

QUOTE(aladdin @ May 29 2009, 04:39 PM) OMG, this is the greatest news so far!! How reliable this news is? Haha I just posted it because I found it amusing, don't get your hopes up too high lol. If you notice there are no quotes whatsoever directly from the player himself. So this is likely to be false. But then again who knows lol

if we can add barry or alonso to our ranks, i would be thrilled to bits... of course right now, the only thing we have is rumours. however, it is known that barry has been looking for a move to a club with european football and that alonso for some reason doesn't really rank very high in rafa's books....
and if wenger is serious about bringing players with experience who can give us that extra edge, both these players are decently priced and aren't past their prime yet.
but until that happens.. i'll just continue dreaming... heheh...

i'm not too sure about mr. barry... idk but he doesnt look intimidating enough. i might not be in a good position to comment on him coz i havent seen him play a lot, but i'm like super keen on cana. but i guess he's good for the price (IF the news if anything trustworthy). even if it's true, i fear wenger will refuse to get him so as not to 'jeopardize' song's development.

So, we'll see how Glazidis work around this. AW definitely wants barry if he is available for 12M, but knowing english players, price would be ballooned to like 18M. haih...

Its Villa's loss of they don't sell Barry. His contract is up by end of next season IINM. 12m is a really good offer for someone in his last year.
... Otherwise we'll just take him for free season after next!

exactly, barry didn't sign any extension last year rite? he was committed to villa for another year, and as much as he wants to, villa just didn't have enough to sustain their form for ECL spot.
Villa is really in a tight spot. They know they have the talent to challenge but they don't have the squad depth to sustain. In order to move forward, more investment is needed to add to squad depth... and that means more $$ is needed. So, they need to create some money before they can spend, rite?
so 12M is quite ok i think. Had it been last season, i think AW would've paid 16m or maybe 18m but villa not interested.

Emmanuel Eboue set for Arsenal axe» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Arsene Wenger is ready to off-load Emmanuel Eboue as part of a major shake-up of his squad this summer.
Gunners boss Wenger is also preparing to sell off his unsettled striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
And Italian clubs AC Milan and Juventus are both interested in signing former captain William Gallas.
But Eboue is the surprise name as a potential departure after the Ivory Coast utility man recovered from being jeered by Arsenal fans earlier in the season.
Atletico Madrid are interested in taking Eboue away from the Emirates.
Ac Milan also want Adebayor while Gallas, 32 in August, may be allowed to go as he only has one year left on his contract and was stripped of the captaincy last season.
Wenger is desperate to strengthen his Gunners squad with a centre forward after yet another season without any silverware.
Arsenal have made an enquiry about Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh, while they also want a midfielder and a centre half.
Fulham defender Brede Hangeland is top of their wanted list while Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia and Wolfsburg defensive midfielder Christian Genter have been watched. Source:Mirror Don't know whether this can be trusted or not but selling Eboue, don't seem logic to me.

i think it's not a wise act to sell eboue.. he maybe below from the expectation at the right midfield position, but useful as backup to sagna at the right back. if we sell him, that's mean we just have gavin hoyte for sagna's backup isn't it? imo, we still need eboue for next season (even i hate when see he's diving like got sniped at the forehead)

If barry is indeed 12M, even if there's no transfer kitty for AW, the fans will lobby for it.
As said before, any transfer rumours without the players/manager directly quoting I'll just consider it as current gossip.
