Mar - May would be autumn in NZ.
Quite cold but still OK, I guess.
Personally, I'd prefer autumn.

Thanks bro

mind you even during autumn it was freezing cold

It was damn cold in Queenstown when i was there in May, even though it was only 2'C

also depends on location, somehow it wasnt that cold in milford compared to queenstown

Wow.queenstown can get so cold? nice....i always thought it's gonna be cold and snowing in around jun/jul time frame
will keep that in mind...coz eventhough i like cold, i doubt my baby will
Thanks bro rclxms.gif

Its supposed to be early autumn now but it seems like still quite hot during the day, sometimes without cloud cover (I lived in Palmy North, 150km north of Wellington). For those who wanted to bring their young kids/toddlers, I'd suggest to bring and apply sunblock as well..or if your kids felt uncomfortable with sunblock, get a long sleeve shirts for them. My kids got their skins sunburned after a week staying here. best if you dont expose them to too much sun during the midday.

i am going in May South Island for 2 weeks, campervan laugh.gif smile.gif

I love cold weather rather than hot... I think cold or not will have to depend on your clothing and people's ability to take it... I was in the UK during winter -4 and playing under the snow... except for cold hands and ears i actually felt ok... no kick in fact sometimes... I think my winter clothing is good... I bought termal inner wear, fleece long sleeve + fleece jacket all from uniqlo.. they held up well smile.gif

cash or credit card more preferable in nz (south)?

I brought some cash but ended up only using it once, that was paying a guy making crepes on his bicycle cart.
Almost 99.5% of places accept credit cards so that's an option for you if you prefer to hold less cash.

Hi, Im going to NZ next week, really scared regarding the recent attack happened in NZ, but due to the amount of money already spend to book air tickets and hotels, we decided to go with it and avoid those places where the attack occurred. Need advice regarding the data internet there, is it ok to get pocket wifi from here or get the data plan there in NZ?

i think this period is even safer than normal... as there are police guarding places and the bad guys (if any) will be lying low. I will be going in two months time, not sure if the NZ police and people will still be so vigilant by then hmm.gif laugh.gif

Just drop by The Warehouse (it's a chain of superstores) or the shops at the arrival hall of Auckland Airport and get a short term prepaid sim card (~5NZD, or free if there happen to be a promotion )
Your choices are Vodafone, Spark, Skinny, 2Degrees (most internet packages cost ~20 NZD for 1GB with a validity period of 4 weeks)
You don't have to worry about NZ, the attack is shocking and many of us are still recovering, but the strongest thing about NZ is that we take care of everyone, and you would just be depriving yourself if you skip Christchurch just because of the attack.

Try using klook.com

Before that, why don’t try to calculate with cashback from shopback, probably you could get more discount...

2. Try also combo by paying nz/aud currency, using bigpay... If the timing is right, even cheaper than paying using RM...

Gud luck...
