Hi,

Is driving a campervan hard or dangerous? I like the fact that i can cook, wash and toilet all within a car. i would not prefer to keep paying for toilets, washing, sleeping area like what a campercar would smile.gif

It's not hard neither dangerous as long as you drive carefully within the speed limits.
It does cost quite a bit of money though so make a comparison before you commit to one.
And you will need to plan where to spend the night as campsites are limited at certain areas.

ah ok thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thank you

You can park by the lake/roadside but it is considered illegal and you may get a fine for not parking in designated campervan sites.
Hence the reason why I suggested you to think twice before renting one.

got it. thanks nod.gif

It was shot on iPhone & Mavic Pro.

I love NZ, but if you've been to the south island, the scenery in the north island is not as dramatic and won't wow you as much. My focus during my north island trip last year was more on culture and history.

Looks like I have to make the trip to the south island again some time soon.
*
yes.. due to budget constraint i cant do both north and south hence i will be doing south only laugh.gif sweat.gif

Thanks  biggrin.gif

I am a freelance photographer and learning up to shoot video now, so I've been watching a lot of travel video and see how the pro do it.

I did the trip in car (not campervan) coz my wife prefer a proper hotel room with shower & comfy bed. My road trip was mostly in South Island (8 days) and only spent a day in Auckland.

Ah good. So this particular photo was taken at which part of your trip? Name of place? smile.gif

mind you even during autumn it was freezing cold

It was damn cold in Queenstown when i was there in May, even though it was only 2'C

also depends on location, somehow it wasnt that cold in milford compared to queenstown

i am going in May South Island for 2 weeks, campervan laugh.gif smile.gif

I love cold weather rather than hot... I think cold or not will have to depend on your clothing and people's ability to take it... I was in the UK during winter -4 and playing under the snow... except for cold hands and ears i actually felt ok... no kick in fact sometimes... I think my winter clothing is good... I bought termal inner wear, fleece long sleeve + fleece jacket all from uniqlo.. they held up well smile.gif

Hi, Im going to NZ next week, really scared regarding the recent attack happened in NZ, but due to the amount of money already spend to book air tickets and hotels, we decided to go with it and avoid those places where the attack occurred. Need advice regarding the data internet there, is it ok to get pocket wifi from here or get the data plan there in NZ?
*
i think this period is even safer than normal... as there are police guarding places and the bad guys (if any) will be lying low. I will be going in two months time, not sure if the NZ police and people will still be so vigilant by then hmm.gif laugh.gif

- Skyline Gondola and luge rides
- Jetboat Ride

Any tips on where best to buy the tickets online? smile.gif

Try using klook.com

Before that, why don’t try to calculate with cashback from shopback, probably you could get more discount...

2. Try also combo by paying nz/aud currency, using bigpay... If the timing is right, even cheaper than paying using RM...

Gud luck...

How much did you all typically spend on diesel for your 2 weeks trip / lets say 3500km drive?

I am asking those who hired campervans 2, 4 , 6 berth not campercars / normal cars type
