I drove normal sedan car boarding on the ferry between 2 islands
U can request for the exchange car between the island, you ask ur car renter.

Mine has no choice because my time is peak period, no car was available that time.
btw, in wellington u can eat for OK-ish nasi lemak or fried hokkien mee.

Planning NZ sometime next year, flying to OOL by AA, then take a connecting flight to CHC by Jetstar

However, the AA flight arrives at 10am, and the connecting flight by Jetstar is at 2.30pm, wondering if 4 hours is enough to make the connection? 

Also is transit visa required?

Learned the hard way when AA wouldn't let me check-in luggage at KLIA2 for KL-Sydney-CHC (AA + Jetstar) flight.

Yup. And I just want to add something.
Aussie visa is actually intantaneous. The delay people get mostly because the agent is busy doing something else. Some travel agencies may put you in a queue up to a week, while some others gives you the visa/eta right after u whatsapp him the passport screenshot.  Unless the face looks like an apple plucker, then thats different story

Any1 did campervan or motorhome? Can Any1 share the experience n budget for it?

This is my budget for 2 days north, 6 days south on motorhome. The price shown is per COUPLE (2 people). Per person, it is RM4.3K net, but during this time, we use AA which was cheap. Nowadays, AA doesnt fly to NZ anymore.

i will be goin NZ soon, planning to stay 1 week in auckland and another week in south island, just wanna ask what places are must-go in south island? because my sis is stayin in Auckland she can guide me for tat but she has nv been to south island before...

also, do u need an international driving license to drive in nz? cause i heard wat most ppl do is that they rent a car and start driving south from christchurch.. is tat so? o.O

allocate / spend more  time in south island  like 12 days .  you will not regret .  so much to See and so beautiful

fly to christchurch  and rent/collect  a car  at the airport. 
dont need international DL.  but buy full coverage insurance for rental  car
start planning and book  hostels , ymca ,  you can cook to save cost.

For me is enough as long as you know what to cut & not choosy about foods and accommodations.

Lets say for 4k for expenditure. Including accommodation.

I think still doable if you’re on a budget travelling.
If you want to rent a car, you can choose the cheapest option like Toyota Yaris & stay in air bnb and backpackers room. Foods kena pepandai find one.
