Its supposed to be early autumn now but it seems like still quite hot during the day, sometimes without cloud cover (I lived in Palmy North, 150km north of Wellington). For those who wanted to bring their young kids/toddlers, I'd suggest to bring and apply sunblock as well..or if your kids felt uncomfortable with sunblock, get a long sleeve shirts for them. My kids got their skins sunburned after a week staying here. best if you dont expose them to too much sun during the midday.

QUOTE(silverviolet @ Jul 3 2019, 12:50 PM) I will be flying to Auckland this Saturday...do I need to buy winter clothing to survive or heat tech shirt from Uniqlo and thick jacket will do? Auckland winter is not that cold. Normal tshirt and fleece jacket should suffice. Most important is, bring thick socks and youre good to go. But if you plan to go further south, then you will need thermal shirts. And you can get those cheap at the Warehouse too. I myself wear 1thermal+fleece jacket, cotton track bottom and blanket socks (bought from daiso). My place here in Palmy North, lowest temp right now is 3deg, highest is 22. But of course, when sleeping you just turn on the heater la.. 😁 |
