Hi all,
I've been taking creatine for the past 3 days. I consume 2 servings (10g) for Post-WO after workout yesterday and today. Right now I'm feeling some some pain in the lower right abdomen.. Is it due to I'm consuming too much? Anyone have such issues too? Please advice.

What's PO after workout?
Creatine dehydrates so drink a lot of water.
Discomfort may occur in some individuals. How pain is the pain? It may be totally unrelated!

For some reason, after taking creatine for almost 2 years, I feel that creatine has no positive effect on me. The only thing is that it made my whole body swell like a balloon and puffy, looking all bloated. Strength and muscle gain wise creatine is not that helpful to me. Maybe it's just me, I'm not sure about the others.

I've been taking creatine for a year now. This stuff WORKS for me. Good strength and muscle size gains. The first couple of months I started taking it, I had some sort of discomfort in the stomach. A couple of hours later I'd find myself rushing to the toilet and sh**ing like a duck...
The problem was that my stomach was not used to the 5g serving. So after consulting profesional help I came up with this technique.
1. I skipped the 'loading phase'(some say is not necessary at all)
2. Took only 2.5g a day to get the body used to it.
3. Once I had a better tolarence, I split the 5g into two servings of 2.5g instead(1 pre and another post work out)
4. After about a month or two, I was able to handle the recommended 5g dose.
Try it, gluck
ps. I only take creatine in workout days now, postworkout or sometimes split half before and the other half after.

Creatine sucks water.. A lot of water. If you don't drink enough water, it will suck water from your intestines... causing cramps and a love affair with the toilet bowl.
This is similar mechanism of what happens during food poisoning too (except food poisoning is virus/bacteria/toxin induced).

QUOTE(N0eL @ May 25 2009, 10:35 AM) The recommended dosage for creatine is only 5g daily bro ~! If he's been taking it for the first 3 days, I think he's still in the loading phase. Perhaps that's why. I have however, read some studies that say there isn't a need to load on creatine. I'm unsure myself, but I don't load. My theory's when I drop to 5GMS, during the maintenance phase, then what happened to the first 7 days at 20GMS? Clearly our bodies do not produce much creatine on it's own, so that initial load, just drops right back to 5GMS.

Most probably I took too much for post-workout. I recovered already today..drank lots of water. QUOTE(N0eL @ May 25 2009, 10:35 AM) The recommended dosage for creatine is only 5g daily bro ~! 5g is for non-workout day. For workout day most ppl take a serving in the morning and another for post-workout. while some took as pre-workout.

But anyway, we'll see how it's going to be for another 1 month without creatine. I've been sweating like shit in Muar and it's dehydrating me yet I can't get a time out when class is going on. But I notice my lifts are slightly lower than what it use to be and my bowel habit is becoming more regular without creatine.

However, i would suggest taking it post workout with your p/w shake guessing that it would be around evening after buka puasa. you dont need to load

i think i've read (will post up the source later cuz i bookmark at office) somewhere creatine if taken preworkout is meant for strength building if post workout = i dunno what its called but its for mass building and if u have creatine with whey at the same time the transportation of creatine to your muscle cells is actually slower thus certain experts recommend taking them with warm fruit juice (fructose not sucrose or glucose although any is fine) few minutes after whey forgot why will post the source if i have time cuz office tak boleh access lyn

yeah the warm water part is true, creatine desolved easier in high temeperature, i mixed with coffee before (it was claim that coffee doesnt go with creatine but somehow the research found out that the amount of caffaine is insufficient to do the trick). About the fruit juice stuff, there is still debate going on thou, but warm fruit juice.... hehe. Yeah the carbs help delivering the creatine into ur body.
