jz a word....
if u onli intend to use it for wifi...ipod touch will do... u don need iphone... the purpose of iphone is having all in one.... and u can online on the go.... really don see a purpose of owning an iphone if u don intend to hav mobile access at all (not jz wifi), my 2cents. |

By far, the best method is still to put in fake APN information, that will ensure your 3g data is not used..

tnsai oredi answered ur question. Put in a fake APN or a fake profile to disable data services. @Mackiddo, When on earth are U? U have 30GB limit of data usage on your mobile ?! That certainly is a huge amount! |

Hmm that is quite weird.mind u im using fw 3.1.2 with i3gs After turning on FakeAPn, can you double check in your Settings --> General --> Network --> Cellular Data Network ?(If you do not have this menu, it means you need to install the respective IPCC file for your IPhone, else fakeAPN would not work for you) and see what are the settings for Cellular Data APN : MMS APN: if FakeAPn is working correctly you will see fake.unet (for maxis) in both those fields.. |

Remember, the 3G on and off button is there for you to turn off the 3G connection for battery saving, it doesn't turn off the ability to connect online via other protocols.. IPhone being as smart as it is, will kick in to the other available options.. changing the APN settings ensure that even those protocols would not be able to go online.Give it a try, turn off 3G and attempt to use something that uses internet.. you will see a "E" icon next to your signal bar |

But 30GB of data service? Gee with that kinda amount u don't need to bother to connect to Wifi @ryan_giggs, Switching 3G off doesn't disable data services; it just turns off 3G. |
