Apparently alot of ivalue users have unusually high amount of unbilled charges for this month statement. I'm using ivalue 2 and I used less then 1GB data before the next cycle but my unbilled charges are RM298. Just RM 2 before kena barred. I'm just waiting for my statement to be printed which is on the 10 th every month so I can screw maxis to the max. I have other colleagues using ivalue 1 and ivalue 2 also kena high charges this month eventhough they use less then the data given. I just pity those that uses auto debit to pay maxis when it's maxis mistake for charging high.

More n more heads down n I will not surprise that the die hard maxis fans come out to defend Maxis n their superior 3G coverage .

Frankly the problem is we have a choice n yet succumb to their unfair data pricing? WHY?

It is really surprising when there's a lot of ip4 ivalue 1 customer is having so much prob with d high data charges since maxis is not new in introducing ivalue plans.. it has been around for quite sum time before, dat is with d ip 3g n ip3gs ivalue plans n i believe no such probs have ever surfaced..

i personally think dat ip4 is built such dat it uses ALOT of data transfer to function to its best, until it reaches a point where without d internet basically d fon becomes an obsolete item..

so imo maxis has to revised its data ivalue plans esp ivalue 1 which only limited to 1gb data usage as altho it is FUNCTIONAL but it really is NOT PRACTICAL... wink.gif

@neome like duh. its name itself is iPhone ... INTERNET phone?

i do agree with you, many Malaysians are buying it for style... and then complaining about data rates. to me, that's like buying a turbo-charged car and complaining about the high fuel consumption!

of course it uses lots of data! that's what it was made for!

Yup....why buy a turbo charged performance car and then complain about the fuel consumption.
Luckily ......I made the "Smarter Choice" when I purchased the phone from a certain Telco. Damn..they should pay me for this endorsement.....heheh

It's not about the consumption dudes , it's about the sudden bill shock of data exceeding usage, when one isn't exceeding.

Maybe it's useless telling someone who hasn't experienced it before. But come on , everyone is aware about the bill shock cases ; and thus every of us has been monitoring our bandwidth ; it's not our fault.

What do you do when you know that the turbo-charged car consumes alot of fuel ? We reduce the usage.

And those who aren't contributing to this thread , don't come here and post un-helpful replies.

No such problem or not widely reported?

My friend has been bleeding since iPhone 3G time until not to the extend that his additional RM 600 deposit exhausted and line got barred! Come next month he will switch to Celcom when contract expired!

You can't screw Maxis unless you have proof that you have not exceeded your internet data charges. The only proof you have is the Bill statement which comes a few days after you bill cycle start. With that, they can't argue with you. I suggest you to change your bill cycle to the nearest working day so that you can get the bill statement ASAP. Or you could wait till the bill comes. Just be aware of the pro rated charge.

No use arguing with them with their anti-maxis mindset. They don't understand why we chose Maxis, when 90% of our friends are maxis user and the wide internet coverage. As for me, I monitor my data usage using a few apps, and besides, I use iValue 2 which has a high bandwidth cap. But I guess it's useless when their billing system can't really filter our usage properly. Some of my friend's problems has being resolved by using their statement as a proof, but for those that uses auto-debit billing, I got nothing more to say.

Couldn't agree with u more..plus,some(if not most) of the iphone owners didn't even know what r the consequences of owning an iphone n how to use the iphone the 'correct,safe(bill-wise),n best' way..owners should research n explore it to get the best iphone experience..not all can be answered in one forum

I guess no point of debating with u after reading most of your posts in the forum..yes,i'm a maxis n an iphone user..n yes,i've experience it 1st hand of the high bill of my phone line..but i learnt to understand why did they charge me so high..it turns out, its my own fault..after that,i monitored my usage(also iphone related stuffs like turn off push notifications etc.) n didn't encounter it ever again.

So,still, its up to users if they want the 'highway' solution, which is to migrate to another telco which they think can solve their bill problem..but not for me..it may solve my bill problem, but other issues may surface, mainly on coverage issue..so,choose the best telco that suits your usage(im not judging by the way)

Trust me,they're even some users who deny their own mistakes(honestly)..i mean, come on,if your 'blood scuker' telco really did a daylight robbery, the telco should already been shutdown by now, given the police reports n all..if the telco is proven guilty at the court of justice,THEN i'll be truly stand corrected

N cy97,its not ok if people call u "anti maxis" but its ok for u to call names for people who've given their opinion of why they chose the "blood scuker"?in my book, that's hypocrite..the point is,no need to call them names, give the freedom to exercise their rights..everybody has their own opinion, right?

@maderfader +1

i just received my bill , never overcharge also , paying RM104 also this month , after minus prepayment RM40 = RM64 happy.gif

same as my girlfriend , she using 850mb this month , SMS to other telcom / CALL never exceed , RM108 , minus RM40 = RM68

this is my 3rd bill , nothing wrong with maxis i think , maybe it's ur own fault ?? and my iphone never jail break , so i dunno about jailbreak user =( , because some one claim that there is some application consume alot of ur DATA in the background of jail break phone without NOTICE u at the Setting>General>Usage

I'm an ivalue1 user and I jailbreak my phone. This has been my 2nd month and there's no hanky panky going around my bill. Still within the RM100 limit although I sometimes use the phone to tether and the data almost reached 1GB quota. Just need to monitor the data usage, thats all.

if the usage (the one under settings in iphone) shows the correct usage, then i think its ok .

but if its show differently with maxis bill then i think it's not really user fault eh?

That could be the case..usually the usage amount in the phone is different with bill MAY caused by user who reset the Cellular Network Data(CND) at the wrong date..e.g my billing date ends on the 14th of every month,so i reset my CND on the 15th when i woke up in the morning, which starts for new billing cycle(note that i turn off 3G b4 going to sleep)..so far, it is accurate for me..if user follow these steps but still got difference, then they should report it,either to service provider or MCMC

Hey...This is a public forum for all of us lyn forummers.....we have the right to say what ever we want.....contributing or not to the forum is not for you to judge.... WHO ARE YOU TO COME TELL US TO COME OR NOT TO COME HERE:
If you are unhappy with a certain provider.....just change. U can bring your business elsewhere. Maybe you should stop using your data at all if you can't afford to pay for the charges.
There is no way that a service provider will charge you for usage u didnt use. I've never experienced things like this with my provider.

Most post I can see here are hate post such as "change provider" or the "I told you so" post. How could it be productive when the victims are already tie to the contract?

I'm just trying to remind that forumers here are asking ; and waiting for relevant answers and solutions.
So as part of the members of the forum , please understand the problem and give proper solutions or answers.

I didn't say that I'm judging , nor I did say who are the ones who are not contributing. ( maybe you sendiri perasan , that's your case la ).

But according to your reply earlier , instead of helping , you're actually condemning.

and to reply to your so called "wise" answer

1. Do you need to die in an accident in order for people to be able convince you that you can die in an accident ?
Things that happened to people , might not happen to you. So prolly you just doesn't understand the person's situation because you're ignoring and not putting yourself in his/her shoes.

and

2. Maxis did made a mistake in the data calculation for my case , my Bill is only RM130.90 this month instead of the RM513.66. Case Solved.

Unlike someone who just know how to make noise around and telling people about his provider ~~ whistling.gif , claiming to be the "Smarter Choice" pulak , LOL rclxms.gif
