if its only 'E' appeared,it means that there's no 3G connection in that area..so,find another spot..hope this helps

I dont understand what's the problem u're trying to say..ivalue 1 on maxis is rm100 per month,the amount to be paid is well below than expected..rm100 must be minus rm40 for the first 5 months(coz of the rm200 u paid in advance)..then,plus any excess usage(most likely calls n sms/mms..it all showed in the bill

No disrespect to anyone,but i think most of the data usage problems occur because of users' own ignorance (n some by telcos)..mostly these problems happens on the 1st billing cycle,some on the 2nd billing cycle,seldom@none exist on the 3rd onwards billing cycle..me, fortunately been the victim for only the 1st bill n no problem on the next onwards bill.

Most people usually attack telcos directly(same as me at 1st) without knowing how they actually calculated the bill..after some reading n gaining knowledge 'bout the problem,i recalculate the bill n finally have figure it out..so,thats why i have no problem with my bills afterwards..not that i dont wanna help, but most of the solutions actually have been answer right here in the forum,its only the matter of u WANNA READ IT THOROUGHLY OR NOT.

Basically,these r the summary of the solutions:

1) watch out for the 1st bill,the usage is based on pro-rated (how many days since u activate the line)..if u think u can get free 1gb of internet usage where u activated the line 1 day b4 thebill cycle,THINK AGAIN genius,

2) REALLY get to know ur smart phones,explore n enjoy..turn off any unnecessary push notifications, location service,running-on-background apps etc (u guys r smart,u'll know it when u see it),

3) use wifi as much as possible,especially for heavy downloaders..turn off 3g n cellular data when doing so or turn on airplane mode..data loaded with wifi WILL NOT be added to the usage stats,

I admit,some r telcos fault..like why didnt they told users sooner about the 1st bil..they should've done so..or like why the heck they didnt send users reminders when the unbilled@billed amount(wutever!) have reached the credit limit? But hell,sometimes we have to learn it the cruel way,dont u agree?

So,start blaming oursleves b4 blaming others..that way,wecan truly learn about our smartphones.

Btw,i'm using iphone 4 with ivalue1 plus my bills r within rm70-120 per month..fyi, my 1st bill was rm364.90(unbilled was rm800++) coz my genius brain thought that i can get 1gb free data usage for activation on the 26th(19 days to bill cycle)..moreover,i consider myself to FULLY UTILIZE my iphone 4..i love my iphone 4 on maxis smile.gif

All i was trying to say is control n manage your usage once a week if not everyday..u know ur own phone or telco..so use your best judgement with the resources available..try n error is the way to learn..if everythings needs to be warn without humans doing things themselves,then u'll be lazy n dumb,know what i mean?

Anyways,i've learnt n i didnt have that problem again..its only my two cents..i still have a good nite sleep even if all forumers disagrees smile.gif

Why dont u go online(under customer service tab)..register for free n u can get your itemised bills there..double check whether the bills r sent home or via email

check whether the 3g icon appeared next to your carrier logo..if not appear '3G',then there's no 3g coverage in that area..if it appears n still cant connect,u need to call your service provider's customer service..could be server is down for a moment

I guess no point of debating with u after reading most of your posts in the forum..yes,i'm a maxis n an iphone user..n yes,i've experience it 1st hand of the high bill of my phone line..but i learnt to understand why did they charge me so high..it turns out, its my own fault..after that,i monitored my usage(also iphone related stuffs like turn off push notifications etc.) n didn't encounter it ever again.

So,still,its up to users if they want the 'highway' solution,which is to migrate to another telco which they think can solve their bill problem..but not for me..it may solve my bill problem,but other issues may surface,mainly on coverage issue..so,choose the best telco that suits your usage(im not judging by the way)

Trust me,they're even some users who deny their own mistakes(honestly)..i mean,come on,if your 'blood scuker' telco really did a daylight robbery,the telco should already been shutdown by now,given the police reports n all..if the telco is proven guilty at the court of justice,THEN i'll be truly stand corrected

N cy97,its not ok if people call u "anti maxis" but its ok for u to call names for people who've given their opinion of why they chose the "blood scuker"?in my book,that's hypocrite..the point is,no need to call them names,give the freedom to exercise their rights..everybody has their own opinion,right?

That could be the case..usually the usage amount in the phone is different with bill MAY caused by user who reset the Cellular Network Data(CND) at the wrong date..e.g my billing date ends on the 14th of every month,so i reset my CND on the 15th when i woke up in the morning,which starts for new billing cycle(note that i turn off 3G b4 going to sleep)..so far, it is accurate for me..if user follow these steps but still got difference,then they should report it,either to service provider or MCMC

Dude,i suggest u clear the air from maxis 1st..u complained to us may not solve your issue of that massive billing..why dont u go to any maxis centre n hear them out 1st..of course if i was u,i'd be pissed..but to be clear,hear their side of the story n maybe it can AT LEAST give u an overview of how to stop it.

If that doesn't work out,then u should instruct them to terminate your line there(n make a police report for that matter) n its your choice to use other provider..don't mean to disrespect u,but judging through your comments posted,i dont see u do anything to solve it..how bout u learn the whys,donts n hows(of your particular case)..that way,u can have new knowledge that may help u(even others) in the future..complaining (here in particular) wont do u any good..its about time for u to listen n think..complaining here,u will have responses like e.g. change to other telco, or i told u so etc.

Seriously,i'm sorry about what happened to u n sorry if this comment offend u..but my intentions r for your own good

1) fyi,data counter is for your own tracking system,not for maxis to check..so,resetting it like u did was a very bad move coz now how u wanna check your real data counter?.plus,u're on prepaid..there's no monthly bill for that.

2) u pay for rm68 is it? Coz that's the only prepaid plan that give u free 500mb data.

3) how long have u been using the prepaid on iphone 4?

4) don't know how maxis set your monthly cycle date started as you're a prepaid user..should ask hotlink customer service

1) its true that u have to reset it every month, but not reset it out of fear(thats my point)..reset only when u really know your bill cycle date

2) since this is your 1st month using it,i think it is safe to say that there are a lot of things that u dont know about the iphone 4 tips n tricks,especially for maxis@hotlink users..please use the search box in this website to read more about it..u can also search for my previous comments in this thread..n it will also lead u to others as well

If your info is correct,this is the calculation..i ASSUMED u got the ivalue 1 rm100;

1)ivalue 1=1gb=1000mb=30 days
2) u said u got your iphone 4 on thursday n TODAY is the start of new billing cycle..basically u only have 1 day of free data usage = 33.33 mb
3) 33.33 mb=3333 kb, n your usage is 68.9mb=6890 kb
4) 6890-3333(free)=3557 kb
5) rate is rm0.05/kb
6) 3557kb X rm0.05 = rm177.85,its close to your bill amout

However,that is just my calculation n approximately..should check ur billed amount n ur unbilled amout using *100#

And its your choice if u want to change to other telco

2. The customer support cannot check the system to find my record.

And the advises given are:
1. Sir, you have settled some amount first, then it will not be barred.
2. The total amount its RM5XX.00, maybe you can pay 50% first.

What the hell?? The system only generate the bill on the billing date with all the records? before the billing date, there is no data recorded?

I have no choice but have to wait for the billing date. I don't really feel like paying it as i did not caused this.

And from last Friday onward, my phone seems like cannot locate the 3G services. I can't help myself to suspect Maxis have locked my 3G. But i am still able to sms and call.

According to the salesperson in Maxis center (Sunway), i only need to pay RM20.00 for every month from 1st to fifth as i have paid the advance payment of RM400.00.

Maxis, the best service provider?? better go to hell.

21st its my billing date, i will try to update here when i finish checking with Maxis Center.

Maxis cheat!!!

From my point of view and understanding,balance f/d(forward due) means any payment received,/ unpaid previous bill amount, in the last month(in your case,between 21/01/2011-20/02/2011)
